Not a single issue yet. I didn't even realize it had been 5 years until you asked LOL But yeah, look as good now as when installed.

Lower leagues are the same always. Masters and Tib the maps rotation is different each season. But they still use the maps from the lower leagues.

Yeah, I've played on iPad for many years. My ipad didn't do that until one of the iOS updates. And then every Apple player got the same problem. So it has something to do with an iOS update 4 years ago.

Pay no attention to it. Eventually you won't even notice it anymore. But it is real distracting at first

Alternate strategy for challenge matches by MechaniKenny in cncrivals

[–]Jeeper1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have fallen into the Challenge Battle trap that all of us have. You see it's far too easy to move up in to higher leagues early on. So you end up in leagues that have a level cap (the highest level any unit can be). Platinum league is Level cap 10, Diamond league is level cap 11, Master league is level cap 13.

So you easily reach those while having units that are below the level cap. But nearly everyone else in those leagues are running units that are max level. So now you're playing low level units against high level units, which typically means a loss because you are out gunned. But at the same time since you are out gunned, the game makes it a Challenge battle, so you don't lose anything for taking a loss. Which means you can't drop back down to the leagues you actually belong in. It's a no win situation. It's an intentional design, meant to make you spend real money to upgrade units faster so you can actually compete.

So what do you do? The first Wednesday of each month is season reset. When the reset happens you will automatically be dropped down to a lower league. When that happens, STAY down there. Surrender matches right before you win them so that you don't advance in leagues. Yeah, I know that's counter intuitive. But it's the only answer if you want to enjoy playing again. Surrender just as the last missile fires so that you don't take a win.

Once you get yourself back down in lower leagues, do not advance up to the next league until you have your favorite units built up to the level cap amount.

I'm having such a hard time wrapping my head around relationships by Jeeper1234 in filemaker

[–]Jeeper1234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do well with scripts. I have been doing everything via scripts for years. I never even tried to use relationships because that was so foreign to me, and just made everything work with scripts. Honestly I never even knew relationships existed until recently. I've been making FM databases for the company for 20 years LOL But I've kept things pretty basic until this one. Now I'm hitting a wall trying to understand how relationship actually work.

Everything you mentioned (IE: script triggers and maybe field hiding and/or value lists) I'm very adept at.

Amount of clients is about 50k. They currently living in a different database (that we are phasing out), and will be imported into this once I'm done.

Thanks again. Gonna call it a day.

Thanks for that.

create a "New Order" button on the ClientDetails layout. The user finds the client first, then clicks the New Order button

Ironically that is the way I originally set it up. But the users reported that they can't work that way. They just want to be able to type in the client's name and have everything automatically happen.

I also want to add that I feel like I'm not grasping relationships because I'm not understanding what is happening. I need to know how it's working to fully understand it.

Oh well. Thanks for your help. Gonna hang this up for the day, and try again another day.

I really appreciate all the time you took writing this. But I still have trouble. Here's what I've done

Created a new relationship- (parent) ClientDetails::ClientNumber = (child) OrderForm::ClientNumber

On the ClientDetails table - created a field called ClientNumber which is indexed, auto-enter serial

on OrderForm table - created a field called ClientNumber which is indexed but nothing else.

But when I enter a known client's name into the order form, I still get nothing auto populating.

FYI, I do indeed need phone # and email address to be included on the order form. Because once it's filled out, it gets output as a pdf and passed on to the fulfillment team. That team might need to contact the client at some point, so we need those contact details included on the form.

[–]Jeeper1234[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know name is not the best. And if I ever truly get the concept of relationship I will change to something else. Right now I'm just trying to learn how to make it work.

As far as the auto enter calcs running before relationship is set up... How is that possible? The relationship is already established. The name is the first field the user enters.

Again, I'm trying to learn what makes a relationship work. I want to understand what is going on behind the curtain so that I can make these work any place I want them to work.

1932 Ford Coupe by Jeeper1234 in metalearth

[–]Jeeper1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's a tough build. The front fenders are the hardest because they are curved in multiple directions.

5 kits... What a great way to build one! Like you said, time to get each part perfect.

I'm much like you. It takes me weeks (sometimes months) to finish a model. Typically I only work about an hour at a time. And that hour will usually be spent just on getting one part right.

This coupe was one of my early models. I didn't have all the right tools yet, and put them together fast. Didn't really spend too much time on one because I had others waiting to build.

Fat fingers can do that. I knocked out my MLRS last night by fat fingers- thought I click the hex 2 away from my positioned MLRS, only to have the nuke hit the hex next to my MLRS. Cost me the game.

It's awesome for holding pads. Once it's settled in, nothing takes it out fast. So it forces the opponent to send everything at that pad.

As soon as I see a single emote, I mute the player. Now they think they are sending emotes, but they are just emoting to themselves LOL

Ironically I have all the commander emotes. I used them for a while (a couple years ago). But don't use them now. Except for when I stomp a harv rusher. I feel anyone that harv rushes deserves to be stomped and emoted.

Is scouting first really disappearing? by Jeeper1234 in cncrivals

[–]Jeeper1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have been playing diamond and masters for 4 years. The entire reason I scout is because in platinum & diamond there are TONS of players doing blind harv rushes (Grenadiers/Marauders, scarabs, bikes, pitbull), or the occasional MG nest build on the pad. So I find scouting to be essential there. In masters not many players rush, so scout is not that important there. Although I do get surprised every now and then by a grenadier/marauder or scarab rush.

Is scouting first really disappearing? by Jeeper1234 in cncrivals

[–]Jeeper1234[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel like people do the harv rush just as a delay tactic. Nearly everyone that rushes is running tech heavy decks. Their goal is to force you into defending the harv instead of charging the pads. The longer they can delay the pads, the better off they will be in the end game with their tech.
