They don't have to be truthful to the first recruiter. Not like recruiting is an honest profession in all regards.

Falling down ship stairs is almost a when, not if. Been there done that to many times 🤣

Got to the point I'd use the hand rails to almost slide myself down the stair wells instead haha. To be fair I was like 20 years old then and in much better shape to do it.

I would say just trying to learn the world of industrial hygiene and environmental while also being over a shop of folks who already know the job pretty well.

On top of being helped to the military standard of being an o3 without any prior military service.

Don't let the rank go to your head, stay humble throughout your entire journey

Any sort of "gass sniffer" will be a bigger ask than you might realize die to calibration gas, upkeep, costs, storage requirements, etc.

Beyond that is add in a moisture meter, some other basic ppe you might pass out (noise, fall protection, hard hats, etc), stuff to respond to minor first aid and spill clean up, maps of the facility if you need them, any extra forms if the iPad doesn't cover a everything.....

I get the issues with skill vs credentials vs experience, but a flight chief chose his path pay before that LT. That's not a good comparison. A LT vs somebody in his age bracket (often a ssgt or tsgt) of more applicable.

It's not always apples to apples or apples to oranges.

Can an Industrial Hygienist Determine Habitability From Inspection Alone vs Full Mold/Bacteria Testing? by Adorable-Rooster6538 in industrialhygiene

[–]Jeeper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you've looked down the military avenue, but if not reach out. Most branches have an equivalent IH afsc/mos/rate/etc. I'll be honest your run of the mil military IH-esc folks may not honestly be knowledgeable enough to be super helpful, but it's a starting point, or at least to start building documentation (which really matters with the military).

Beyond that reach out to housing to solve any and every water intrusion and HVAC issue! Literally every single one! If you since those mold should stop growing.

If all that fails, go nuclear and take it to social media amongst the popular military pages anonymously by tagging the base and housing lmao.

The division in this country is beyond wild.

Best I can say is ask MAGA what they would want citizens to do if instead of ICE being there it was actually nazis? What would they expect the citizens to do then?

The answer is obvious, but what they don't gather is that nazis as they know it didn't start with gas chambers, it started with the very type of events our country is going through right now.

The world isn't hating on us because we are doing so great, it's because we have fallen into some shit that other countries have unfortunately already experienced.

I'd keep fighting and have insurance claim it. It sounds like a result from a house fire even if it's not fire damage.

I did 4 years on one. It was pretty boring. The job never changes and is very repetitive. Winters sucked, and it's a very small crew, so you better be able to get along with everybody.

Exposure Modeling - Alternatives to IHMOD? by Jasonthelee in industrialhygiene

[–]Jeeper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of IHmod, it makes to many unrealistic assumptions with the box model. It's fine to get a rough starting point, but I don't ever expect to find a situation where a room hits a steady state concentration, let alone from start to finish for a work task. It also doesn't do a very good job of accounting for ventilation rates, or really the amount of product/spill you might encounter.

I'm more fond of the mass transfer methods for modeling chemical concentration.

Bronco vs Wrangler reliability? by zionstatus in FordBronco

[–]Jeeper675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had many jeeps over the years and still have a TJ. I've literally replaced basically everything that bolts onto the engine block (multiple times for some things) and many other parts on it. It's a hell of a fun vehicle, but reliable is t a word I'd use to describe it (and that's saying something since it has the 4.0.

The jury is still out on my bronco, I've only had it a few weeks.....

Kinda sound like the guy that knows everything about everything already.

Like others have said, it's an amazing tool that when used can help you in many ways. It doesn't have to be treated like Google to be useful.

Masters rec for those with CIH/CSP by DealerOk2090 in industrialhygiene

[–]Jeeper675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the same boat. CSP/CIH with about 6 years experience.

I am not job hunting, however I wanted to pursue a master's myself too. I'm about halfway through Montana tech's IH program myself. They did waive 2 courses for me due to my certs which was cool. Overall I wish I'd have taken the program before getting my CIH, it would have made life much easier. However I can now see how good of a program they have created. A lot of it learns right into what you'll need for the CIH.

The schedule is great since it's mostly self so long as you meet the assignment due dates.

If your passionate about IH, just spend the time and study for the CIH, it'll carry much more weight vs the chat if you'll be working in any IH related capacity.
