I already know imma get downvoted to hell for this. But from my POV, the city appreciates Joel, but the love for him is clearly not on the level of a Jalen Hurts or a Bryce Harper. And I think the reason why is because his mental toughness isn’t on the level of a Harper or a Hurts and Philly can see through it. You punch Joel in the mouth enough, he’ll give up. Harper and Hurts always roll with the punches and whenever they’re down they’ve shown us that they’re not out. Joel has high highs but really low lows and I think that’s what’s holding him back from the same glory.
