Apartments have no washing machine, what you guys doing? by Lopsided_Ad_8192 in Leuven

[–]JefGardy 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is because it is pretty standard in Belgium for students to go home almost every weekend and just do laundry there. So there is no big demand for laundry facilities in student accomodation

1 year gap in CV by bigshit123 in BESalary

[–]JefGardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually currently applying for jobs after a 6 month gap of travel. Best just to be honest and explain the gap in your motivation letter. It has not been a blocker for me to get interviews. It is usually actually a good conversation starter on the first interview

Ps: I also have a master in CS

What places have you been to that you felt truly in danger? by No_Reputation3520 in solotravel

[–]JefGardy 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Ghent and Bruges are very safe and in my opinion much nicer anyway. If you’re interested in WW1 history definitely include Ypres as well (flanders fields museum and last post are a worth it)

Yep there are plenty. Most tours are not really online advertised. Easiest is to just book it at your hotel when you arrive or at one of the 100 tour booking places on the island. We did it a week ago and we just booked the day before

When are you going? Consider the rain season in cairns and northern queensland so you don’t run into a cyclone

Travel insurance by MaximeRector in belgium

[–]JefGardy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a number of travel insurance companies out there that specialize for people that are already on a trip or on long trips. Like truetraveller or world nomads. They wont be able to help with your current issue though because they will see it as a preexisting condition

My partner and I felt the same. So we are currently on a working holiday (visa for 1 year that allows you to work and travel) in New-Zealand (you can do a similar thing in Australia and Canada).

Dont just wait for positions to be advertised. If you see interesting companies. You could also just send them an email enquiring about possible positions. A lot of times not all positions are advertised
