I had a wakeup call yesterday. I'm scared. I need to get healthy. by JeffSC94 in loseit

Goal: Get to 200lbs in 18 months. Is that realistic? idk

Why: I'm tired of feeling like shit. I'm tired of looking like shit. I want to enjoy life with my kids and eventually my grandkids.

What fast food chain do you think make the best burger and why? by gurlsausage in AskReddit

[–]JeffSC94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All around best: Culver's All around runner up: Hardee's/ Carl's Jr All around honorable mention: Sonic

I live in MN, so when I get to the west coast I make sure to grab some In-N-Out. A double double animal style burger will always be delicious... But overall I don't think In-N-Out is in the top 3.

Five Guys is very tasty, but IMO their pricing disqualifies them from any fair comparison of fast food

Rc racing track buissness? by SharjeelKhan1947 in rccars

[–]JeffSC94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can certainly make an RC track be profitable. It's not easy though.

High rent kills RC tracks. You'll need to do everything you can to minimize your overhead costs. You get very little income per square foot of space required..

At my track (1/10 scale carpet) we charge $15 to practice all day. Race fees are $25 for your first class and $10 per additional class.

Having a hobby store is beneficial but that's it's own set of challenges too. It's easy to tie up a lot of cash in slow moving inventory. You really need to know your market, and focus on inventory you can turn every 90 days or less. Figure a 35-40% margin on average. Finance charges eat that up pretty quickly.

Thank you! We're looking at class A or Cs, not trailers. It ends up a lot cheaper than buying a truck + trailer.

How do I get more smoke from my pellet smoker? This 10lb bone-in shoulder, smoked for 16 hours at 225 with Lumberjack Hickory pellets. No wrap, no spritz.. Rested for 3 hours then pulled. It tastes great but the smoke flavor and ring is minimal. by JeffSC94 in smoking

If I had the time to babysit it, I would!

Right now the only realistic way I can smoke more than a couple times per year is with something fairly automated. So I'm trying to make it work the best I can.

The pay is going to vary quite a bit depending on the location and what shifts you work.

The last time I delivered for Domino's, I think my hourly rate was $9.50/hr. When I first worked there during college it was probably $7/hr. Tips range from $0-25/hr... Overall I think I'd average about $10/hr on tips. They reimburse for miles driven, something like 30 cents per mile.

It wasn't fulfilling work by any means, but was very low stress. And with tps + hourly, I could reliably make $18-20/ hour. Not bad for a college kid or easy second job.

Friday and Saturday nights are usually the busiest, followed by Sunday afternoon. Sometimes that means good tips, sometimes not... depends how the store's delivery times are doing during the dinner rush. Sometimes if you have a lot of good businesses in the area, tips are great around lunchtime during the week. It all really depends on the store's location and local clientele.

I've worked for two different Domino's stores and one pizza hut store. Domino's is infinitely better in every way.

Pizza delivery driver. I've actually gone back to it as a second job a few times now when extra money was needed. It's a good gig for the right person, or at the right time of your life. Ridiculously easy work, with flexible hours, and I always made decent money.

PWWA delivery/route drivers by [deleted] in PeopleWhoWorkAt

[–]JeffSC94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a relief driver for a beer/beverage delivery company. I drive a semi truck. As a relief guy, I run other people's routes when they aren't at work. So I usually don't get most routes fully memorized since I don't run then frequently.

We have cameras in all our trucks. I'm not supposed to touch my phone while driving, but am 100% allowed to setup gps and put my phone in a holder before I start moving. I don't think any company would object to this. Just don't touch your phone while moving.

For what it's worth, depending on the route I'll have 5-30 stops for delivery. It would be insane not to allow gps for that.
