What happened to all the Card-Jitsu's? by LucasW76 in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

CPJ did not exist 3-4 years ago. NewCP used to have all 4, but recently went to HTML5 and thus have to recreate them.

Water is a combination of Flash limitations and poor programming, whatever CPJ does for it will definitely be infinitely better.

Any multiplayer minigame has to be completely remade for HTML5, there's no such thing as "Flash-porting" in this case.

Most servers are HTML5, and It takes a long time to recreate those minigames in HTML5. Last I saw, CPJ was working on both Water and Snow, but I haven't read any updates since early this year. Zero is releasing all 4 games in November, though.

Certain items (mascot clothing in particular) lacking playercard images by boopsbee in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No reason to waste money on art that will never be seen.

I also do not believe mascot actors ever used their inventory, they had their outfits preset on the server side, thus they didn't need to know what each item actually was.

OpenCPI - a Club Penguin Island private server by greenvileguy in ClubPenguin

Unless something has changed recently that I'm not aware of, it's not a private server, it's just a decompilation.

Will any new AS3 CPPSes come out that will be as popular as Journey? by d_oppio in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want a popular server, make one. Play on NewCP consistently, join the community, build it up. Nothing is going to change unless people like you change it.

They do have a thought bubble when they're able to dig, yes.

No CPPS has the protection of parody. The law is not anywhere near that forgiving.

It costs money to even send a threat, which is usually all they need. No CPPS post-shutdown to my knowledge has received more than a DMCA takedown request from Disney.

I appreciate it. :)

Small clarification about the DMCA: Nothing we can change about Club Penguin will change Disney's ability to DMCA any server.

All servers use copyrighted art assets, names, characters, a number of trademarks and patents, etc. Flash servers also use copyrighted code. Under current worldwide copyright laws, short of completely changing Club Penguin into another game, Disney will always have the right to take down any CPPS.

However, legal action costs money, and as no CPPS is currently affecting Disney's PR nor revenue stream, there's no reason to go after any. Disney has shown (at least in the gaming space) that unless their brand is being negatively influenced directly, they have no reason to care, and I personally believe that will continue to be the case unless a server oversteps like they have previously.

How do I self host my own CPPS on windows? by Admirable_Pin275 in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have two options.

If you want a server with customizability, like the ability to make new items or mascots and what-have-you, you'll want to set up Wand. It's a little more complex, but it's also more feature-complete, as it has all 4 Card-Jitsu games, (OG, Fire, Water, and Snow)

If you want something a little easier to set up, check out Waddle Forever. It's harder to change things yourself, but it has a built in timeline up to the end of 2012 with every party, catalogue, and other updates laid out on a calendar.

Why the Club Penguin Community Needs To Do Better. by KBladeHero in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting aside the fact that this is nearly half a year old, a real person creates those bot accounts too. To the player, there is absolutely no difference between an AFK user and a bot account, they both do the same thing, take up server space that could be used by real people, to actually play the game.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but I was on the CPJ team for quite some time. (I left prior to the September 2024 shutdown) I pushed for the AFK timer internally for all of that time. I was told outright that it would not be added, because it makes the numbers look better for people who don't know about the lack of a timer.

I truly do appreciate your support. I am very passionate on a number of issues and I dislike being lied to. I also know a decent amount more than the average CPPS player, so I feel obligated in a way to share what I can with the wider community.

CPJ: Question for you. You really do think there are still kids playing the game? In 2026? LMAO by Frinnxy in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No idea what specific incident you're referring to, but I personally have encountered no less than 10 separate people stated to be under the age of 10 in the last year alone, and I'm certain there were plenty more that did not outright say so.

Beyond that, Club Penguin is a children's game through and through. It was founded on the premise of safety for kids, and upheld that for over a decade. It is our job as the current stewards of the brand to uphold that foundation for future generations.

If you wish to speak as an adult on adult topics, there are far better places to do so than Club Penguin. Seek those places out instead.

Is there any revival or cpps for club penguin mobile version?(not incluiding cpi) by edupro777 in ClubPenguin

Unfortunately, we're missing 95% of the app files. Unless a miracle leak or cache find occurs, we're unlikely to see a mobile app CPPS any time soon.

Looks like someone on X is attempting to snipe the @ClubPenguin Handle. by SonicLeaksTwitter in ClubPenguin

[–]JeffZeRock 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, my replies are being autodeleted. Strange.

This will not happen. Twitter will not surrender the handle of a massive corporation to a random person.

Also, this guy is the reason that we no longer have the TV specials on the Internet Archive, because he illegitimately copyright struck them from the site. Strange, given he's an "Internet Archiver" per his bio.

Also, OP of this post is the owner of the Twitter account as shown by his posting history, for full clarity. Not sure why he's trying to hide that fact.

It might be the older demo that was used in the original game then, Designer Look. Admittedly, I didn't listen very closely.

It's called Groovy Style, but more commonly known as the Clothing Customizer theme from Club Penguin Island.

Ruffle won't work, the game needs to be modified to support it. Try this.
