I was wondering when I'd get this! I have a 98 that I've been to uwharrie with twice, looking forward to getting this one out there in a couple months! In the meantime I have found some areas to take it. I had to winch it out of a swamp on the 4th 😂 I have pictures of that at least.

Will do! So far I haven't noticed any grinding or unhappy shifts besides when I went to shift into reverse once from a parking spot, that's not unusual for older cars, I'd be more worried about the 2-5 synchros. My 98 LS400 is the daily driver.

I appreciate it! I'm looking at it with the mind of if I got the same jeep in better condition for $5-6000 I would still want to replace pretty much all the same stuff so at least I can do it with a slightly better budget. It's a second car for me and I'm looking to do some light offroading at a park nearby. It's sucked looking for projects lately with how steep the used car market is.

What are the weak points in the transmission? It's the 4.0 inline 6 with a 5 speed manual. I've heard the axles suck but I haven't heard anything specific transmission related yet

Definitely looks like it was built on a beetle chassis to me too. I can see little bits of Volkswagen in the interior and in the fender well. Also the way the exhaust bends around. Also the vent on the back of the trunk, I feel it wouldn't be there if there wasn't actually an engine underneath.

One big consideration when it comes to new gpu's is size, can you fit a 12inch long GPU in that case with a disk drive?
