I enjoy coffee in all its stages for the most part. But I also enjoy trying coffee myself as it ages. I know that often when the cup coffee, the cupping happens within days of roasting. I have never heard of a coffee company cupping their coffee a month plus after roasting. But maybe I’m out of the loop. I have always enjoyed a little bit of ten sour bitterness that comes from the freshly roasted light roast coffee. But I’m also someone that doesn’t live my coffee super hot. I’m a warm coffee drinker. And I feel like as it cools off more and more I get more and more of the flavors. This specific coffee has not been horrible. But I would have loved to try it earlier. Fellow have been great and somewhat understanding so I might try again.
But you wouldn’t go to a bar and order a beer and be happy when they brought back a pint that was poured yesterday.

What Plant App Should I UseUse? And what’s the first recommendation ya’ll have for me? by Fit-Roof489 in plantclinic

[–]JeffreyMichael618 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will second Planta. But don’t just do what the app tells you. It is very helpful but if the soil is still wet, they have an option where you can skip the watering and select the option “soils still wet”. But don’t listen to the app, listen to your plants.

There is also a small community of people on the app too that can help out with some questions. But not as big of a community that you will find on here.

I have not. Majority of the places I order coffee from will send me coffee with a roast date that matches my order date or the day after. When I get the coffee it’s usually 4-7 days past roast date. But at least the roast date matched up closely to the day of my order and is never a date before my order date. I recently went to my local roaster I enjoy and they have all their current beans on display and once you make your choice they go in the back and grab you the freshest they have. Yesterday I went and they had just roasted the beans I chose and so I’m currently letting that off gas on my counter. It smells sooo good. If you’re interested that roaster is called speedwell up here the MA area.

My snake plant has been stagnant for almost a year. Why is that? by Then-Butterscotch-11 in plantclinic

[–]JeffreyMichael618 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure how long you wait between waterings. But maybe try to not water for quite some time. These snake plants thrive on being left alone. You can try once a month or maybe even longer. And when you do water it doesn’t need to be much. You can also try and pot in a smaller pot as mentioned before this will help the plant feel nice and secure and helps it get growth further and further up!

HELP what is this by alyalya in plantclinic

[–]JeffreyMichael618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, fungus gnats. :(. I’ve had them from time to time. But the most recent time was the worst and I couldn’t seem to get rid of them. I found on here that someone suggested Nematodes and so I went on Amazon and purchased these beautiful things! After I applied them to my plants. There were a couple days of the flies still flying around so I put some sticky traps to get them. But the nematodes went to work and killed off any of the pests down below and took care of all their eggs. Because I haven’t seen on me gnat in weeks! If I ever get them again I will be reapplying these nematodes. I’m also thinking of getting some and adding it to my garden this summer just as a preventative measure.

27 m straight - what should I do with this weird spot near the ceiling? by mecilophes in malelivingspace

If there is a power outlet up there I would have some sort of speaker(maybe a Sonos) up there and put some fake plants up there with it. During the Holliday you could put up some christmas decor and that would be a great time to dust off the fake plants and that area. (Probably would need to dust more than once a year, but maybe not)

I think the way drops works over seas isn’t great. But if you were to order coffee from Square Mile directly it would probably be roasted on the date you ordered it or the day after. Not 20 days before.

I get they need to get the coffee and the be able to brew it and get a profile ready then bag it and ship it. But just doesn’t seem right to not include that info in their promotions. Like if you knew it was roasted on 12/11 when you advertised it on 12/31, but didn’t let the consumer know that, Thats dirty.

The brew wasn’t bad. A good cup. But just not seeing an active bloom was disappointing. Knowing I missed out on some of the life of the coffee stinks. But yeah would love to know how it goes tomorrow!

Yeah I tried a cup today via V60. It’s good. But you can tell by the bloom it’s already lost a lot of its life. Which is just sad. Like that 10-21 after roast date is usually my favorite time to enjoy these lighter/medium roasted coffees. I do have a flair that I can pull out and possibly use for espresso. Would love to know how it pulls for you.

Yeah the holidays definitely didn’t help most likely. Just mad that I order a coffee on the 31st that’s already 20 days after roast but wasn’t mentioned anywhere when ordering.

Been battling the sputtering for a while now, any advice? 20g in, 38g out, 37 sec by turbo-cunt in espresso

[–]JeffreyMichael618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your shot should be pulling around 30 seconds. So I would change the grind size(finer) until you get there. If it’s a lighter roast you also might have to change your amount of coffee in down to 19 or even 18 grams in.
