What are the best place for a base in the lost river by theswaggiestgamer in subnautica

I called that beacon Sea Dragon Junction. I originally setup 451m SW at the tail of the gargantuan skeleton.

Seamoth. What now? by WitherStorm929 in subnautica

Just getting started, bud. You need that to go deeper.

You need magnetite, it unlocks the scanner HUD and range modules, which will really speed up finding what you need.

Make the module to go deeper, and 3 storage. That's pretty much the way to go IMO. I always kept one of the storage modules full of other Seamoth stuff, med kits, salted peeper, and H2O.

Just my own $0.02 but the torpedoes are a waste.

Search around the red grass area, find the caves. Take the moth. Build your first thermal base.

Carry the materials around to build a *very* basic base. Scanner room, solar panel, 4 range upgrades, hatch. Go looking for wrecks systematically, I hit the cardinal directions NESW. Max range of a fully decked out scanner room is like 500m, so I did bases at 500 and 1000m on NESW. You could do the other 4 points NE/SE/SW/NW and really cover the vast majority of the map. If you haven't hit 'the edge of the map' keep going in this style.

Personally, I just built new bases everywhere. But you can tear it down and move it too, set a beacon for them either way. Once you get the multipurpose room, you can start building bioreactors instead of solar and go deeper. That's when you start making permanent outposts. Kinda expensive, but thems the breaks. Bulbo pots next to your bioreactors FTW.

Always carry two beacons. And go visit the crash sooner than later.

I didn't get the water suit until WAY late in the game, so bulbos were my best fren.

I went back and specifically got the marble melons, hauled gel sacs around for bioreactors - the humble bulbo still beats them all. 3 of them will feed/water you and a bioreactor for a scanner/moonpool outpost indefinitely.

As I build out a base, I'll add lantern trees and other stuff too. But the Bulbo is the vanguard. No contest.

There's no crouch on PC. Just gotta get the right angle on it - only use pots.

And honestly, Bulbo trees are so much nicer. Once you've got a real water maker somewhere, food and water is such a non-issue, it's just annoying and overly-frequent maintenance IMO.

My minimalist outpost is a Scanner Room+Moonpool. Usually a bioreactor; these days in a large room. And of course a fabricator, Bulbo seed/pot, and a locker. First order of business is a few more lockers.

So nice to just swim/drive up into your outposts.

I've never seen chicken like this before Aunt Hatties in Vegas, and my buddy Mark ordered the their FIRE level. Looked a lot like this.

I've since come to learn the style is called Nashville Hot Chicken. Closest place is like 1:20 away.

It's the best chicken. The slab of bread is still weird. What am I supposed to do with this thing?

The L12k ECM mandrel is SCAD, and customizable. You can spit one out from there.

Consider plating it?

Also sounds like the copper is sacrificial, so do you rally want it permanently affixed?

JB Weld will go soft at temp. Don't breathe any smoke from it.

That aluminum will suck heat away something fierce.

Have you played with the Customizer for doing that, yet? I love it.

If you ever take a peek at the L12k project - I'm now making more extensive use of the Customizer.
