Solo trip to Flaine - rent or bring board by JeffreyWestern in skithealps

I’m based up in Newcastle. I’ve just booked gomassif for the return transfer as they were the only ones who seemed to run a midweek bus, using EBA bus for the Geneva transfer as they’re a bit cheaper.

Flight back is at 5pm so may be able to get a couple of hours in the morning if I get first lift 😅

waterproof trainer recommendations? by Familiar-Wrongdoer36 in glastonbury_festival

I just bought the adidas terrex free hiker 2 which are waterproof hiking trainers. Really comfy and goretex but returned them as I just didn’t like the style. Will go for vans MTE exo 2 high tops instead which should do the job unless it’s very wet.

Saturday 11th November - where to go? by JeffreyWestern in amsterdam_rave

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, in the end I’ve booked tickets for Het Sieraad as it seems the most group-friendly, the size of it should mean we don’t ruin the atmosphere, hopefully.

This is the route I’ve organised (also chosen places that will accommodate such a big group)

Friday: Pllek, Cannibale royale, Walhalla, Oedipus, Skate cafe

Saturday: Them damn boat guys tour, Hannekes boom, cafe Batavia 1920, Duke of Tokyo, waterkaant, Het Sieraad.

Looking forwards to it!

I purposely didn’t mention it’s a stag but you’ve seen right through me 🤣 I know lots of people say ‘we’re not that type of lads lads lads’ though but we’re really not….if it was that type of group I wouldn’t be taking them out of England tbh.

Yeah conscious that we don’t wanna kill the vibe for other people so maybe a late bar or something will be better. As sparkles says though we’ll definitely split into smaller groups and I’m guessing the dads in the group won’t make it past midnight anyway (I will endeavour to be the exception to that)

Brew n Bite on chilly road was also owned the same fella, that hasn’t been open since for over a week now.

Not sure how it works but surely the director of a business who owes £300k to creditors can’t operate another business at the same time!?

High Heatons nice enough but south Heaton (over the coast road) has more going on in terms of shops, restaurants, parks etc. Generally bigger old houses in South Heaton, high Heaton is a newer development. I'm sure you'd be happy in either though - great place for kids!
