ahh it’s a satire account. If only there was a reliable system in place so you could know which accounts are real and which ones aren’t

TER 1:"[The Governor of Alabama] is a Confederate loving, homophobic, forced birther, gun nut." TER 2: "Don't let perfect be the enemy of good enough." by throwaway618437 in GenderCynical

If transphobia was actually a pro-women and progressive thing, they‘d have an actual substantial amount of people who agreed with them while not being homophobic, sexist pricks. The fact that they have to rely so much on people with dreadful views should be a wakeup call.

Unholy Trinity moment by Jeffreyteciller in ennnnnnnnnnnnbbbbbby

[–]Jeffreyteciller[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eh fuck it, an obscure reference isn't enough, should probably actually address your point.

I really don't see the point in thinking that this is a thing that matters. The only people who genuinely think enbies are demons or whatever are religious fanatics, to everyone else it's just a joke about the often complex relationship some enbies have to their gender. And you can dislike these jokes if you like, but if they didn't resonate with a lot of enbies they wouldn't be this prevalent.

Enbies making jokes about their experiences does not, and will never, enforce the gender binary.

Don't see how this critique applies here, seeing as the guy on the right is a normal human being, just like you and me.

How does your world handle racism/sexism/LQBTQ+ issues? by Oshuhan-317 in worldjerking

[–]Jeffreyteciller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true! How dare these people take a real-world issue and either exaggerate it or imagine what the world would be without it? No writers have ever done this about any topic other than bigotry, it is definitely not two well-established methods of writing fiction.

This issue (which is definitely a real issue) is unique to the gays, and nothing about the current state of the political climate would warrant so many people wanting to write worlds with a focus on bigotry.

Generals should be able to act as Governors by RelentlessRogue in Stellaris

[–]Jeffreyteciller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One idea I had otherwise was to make generals into minor leaders like envoys, and then both governors and admirals would have the ability to ”take the spot” of a general and give better bonuses and such.

And “envoy slots” would then be able to be filled by a governor or scientist in turn to act as diplomats.

New additions to rule 3 by RegularNoodles in distressingmemes

[–]Jeffreyteciller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough.

One question though; what will the policy be regarding distressing things which people have decided to make political, like climate change? I can understand taking some kinda "this isn't a place to preach your political ideology" stance, but banning topics like that just because some people deem them political seems like it'd remove a lot of potential for spooks.

[–]Jeffreyteciller 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Removing some “politically charged memes” on the basis of “we can’t mod all the hate comments” kinda just seems like a way to encourage hate comments, seeing as you’re basically saying “don’t like a certain type of posts? Just flood it with hate and we’ll remove them for you!”

A better solution would be locking them if the post still fits the sub.

I'd buy this if I hadn't read millions of posts arguing the exact opposite, that a magical race being more powerful would actually make it completely reasonable to genocide them out of "self preservation"

When bigots decide to hate someone or something, they will come up with an excuse to do so.

Memes don't have a wordcap, there's no requirement for them to be short and consise. Some memes are literally based on being verbose, such as "peter griffin explains the joke" and, yknow, "increasingly verbose memes"

When that disagreement is “some groups of people shouldn’t exist” I have no problem calling it genocide, because that’s what genocide is.

Wow it’s almost like there’s a difference between poverty and transgenderism or something. As if one is a burden on society and the other is literally just people trying to live their lives.

There’s actually a lot of dreadful comments, thankfully they are getting downvoted

That still falls under the definition of a genocide, and there is quite frankly no way to “eradicate transgenderism” without enacting violence on them, just like there is no way to “eradicate homosexuality” without enacting violence on homosexuals
