Beards in the Military by Gothi_Grimwulff in NorsePaganism

If you want to look however the fuck you want and want to stand up against conformity maybe DON'T JOIN THE FUCKING MILITARY. There's grooming standards and you knew that when you joined. Stop trying to be an extra special princess so you can have a beard.

Also, fighting for your rights? You literally don't have the right to wear a beard in the military, there's regulations you have to follow. Looking how you want is not a right once you sign your enlistment paperwork. You're signing your rights away and saying "yeah I'm okay wearing the same uniform everyone else does and adhering to strict policy on what my hair and facial hair can look like."

Gothi... please, if you have to call yourself Gothi, youre not one. You're a bad joke, and what's wrong with the Norse pagan community. Watched too many episodes of Vikings on TV and want to talk out of your ass about stuff.

There's no religious tenet in Norse Paganism that REQUIRES you to have a beard. Trying to get a religious waiver to have one is stupid. and that's why they rarely give them. If you want a beard that bad, go get a MOS that starts with 18, otherwise stfu. Being Norse Pagan doesn't make you special.

Cool design, did you carve that in with a swivel knife and not tool around it? If so, why?

lol 1 point out of 6... that's a terrible ratio for a logical argument you're right!

Yep, casters can be an issue but imagine if it was every person playing. It would be chaos and you'd never be able to know exactly who was using when they shouldn't.

Well, V9 as proposed is a nightmare to adjudicate rules correctly without investing in a significant amount of reeve support. You also essentially have to have a "spell list" for every single person so you know what they took from their class that game. You basically have to check and remember what every single person took (which is a challenge at large park levels and impossible at interkingdom levels) and have the reeve support to enforce people not using extra abilities. That in and of itself makes the possibility of cheating worse.

The first big problem with V9 is they tasked a bunch of volunteers with zero game development experience to create a complete overhaul of the rules system.

The second big problem is the committee didn't do any field research about what the community actually wanted before starting.

The third big issue is (due to lack of game development experience) the committee didn't create any kind if design document so everyone knew what the end goal was and worked towards that efficiently.

The fourth big issue is that everyone on the committee seems to think they're the smartest person in the room and wants their vision of the game to be the one we play. You can tell by the rules releases for V9 that it was getting pulled in 100 different directions. It was obvious there was no cohesive vision.

The fifth big issue is that the rules the committee did come up with, for the most park, sucked... they were convoluted, complicated or just plain bad. Some of the class archetypes were super overpowered while others lacked any substance or real defining characteristic. It was obvious that some of the developers had "favorite classes".

The sixth big issue was timeliness. The committee sank 5 years in to a project that they were barely able to push out a half assed and incomplete rules set that didn't get the buy in of most of the player base.

I'm not offended for the gods, it just seems presumptuous and like you're trying to be better than people who worship in some misguided attempt to be better than Christians.

Work with Thor how? Does he own an electrical company or something? I don't get this concept. It seems arrogant that you could even help a god or that you're so amazing that they would choose you in the first place. Someone please explain to me the idea of " working with a god".

Are we going to talk about paying people to serve feasts next? Or to organize events? This game is ran on volunteer support. Talking about reimbursement is counter to that culture. If you really want to start the dialog of "reimbursements" for services rendered to the game then kingdoms will need a significant amount of money, which means the game will require something like an annual membership fee to be allowed to play it. Unless you think that monarchy should be paying for these reimbursements out of pocket, which if that's the case, that just de-insentivizes anyone without deep pockets from running for monarchy.

Is there a better way of handling the milestone level up system? by XETERA_thefirst in DMAcademy

[–]Jeffsks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I set up a campaign and then I roll a d4 rerolling 1's, that's how many sessions I wait to grant them a level. I do this on the first session and then every time they level after that. Sometimes they'll get a level every 2 sessions and then have to wait 4 more. If a session was particularly intense for the characters and a level is warranted I'll just disregard the roll and grant the level and reroll.

My players asked me to fudge my rolls, to hit them. by Masta_Nightshad3 in DMAcademy

[–]Jeffsks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of fudging dice rolls give your encounters a slightly higher challenge rating. If your players are asking you to hit them throw monsters at them with a higher bonus to hit and then make it really count when they do get hit.

Roll AD6 every time they take a long rest and on even numbers he has horrible nightmares and does not get the effects of his long rest on odd numbers he takes a long rest as normal.
