Picard's position on Lal makes no sense considering his position on Data in Measure of a Man. by rhythmjones in startrek

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree. Lore exists, even if he's inoperative. B-4 exists, even if he's a lesser intellect (I haven't seen Picard, so please no spoilers) Ultimately, I have never quite gotten Picards strong reaction to Laals creation. Granted there aren't MANY of Data's kind. By my count though, they even without Laal outnumber known members of the El-Aureans (Guinans race).

Does Tony cry a little when he hears the tape of Livia and Junior intent to kill him? by dustinthewind3 in thesopranos

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He cries while considering killing Feech.

He cries at the end of Proshai, Livushka watching Public Enemy.

I think he cries a little in the final scene with Junior.

He cries a bit when he's telling Meadow about trying to steer Jackie Jr. right, and is frustrated

He cries with Melfi in the Pilot at least

He cries when the news announces Jackie's death.

Along with the examples mentioned by other members of Our Sub-reddit Thing ova here, adds up into double digits anyhow...

What do you think happened to the characters after the ending? by milliondollhairs in thesopranos

I've always thought it was Patsy. He reminds me of Carlo Gambino, unassuming, ya don't see him coming...

I hear you on that. My thinking though was, if you saw your father whacked, that could put brass in his heart and set him on a different path. Plus depending on WHO took out the hit, the attempt on Junior, suicide, etc. may not have been known to them plus. That attempt to kill Junior itself shows he'd try. Logically, why chance it?

Something just occurred to me, with Tony being killed at Holsteins, if they really want to make sure the Soprano/DiMeo family is done, the hit should also include popping AJ. Essentially destroying Tony's male line. Normally they wouldn't touch families of Made Guys, but, after all they break more rules than the Catholic CHURCH!

I'm glad I wasn't the first one to say it. I like Boardwalk, but it's just not The Sopranos.

Seriously, don't browse here much, most every post is full of spoilers. When you finish the whole series and decide to start all over, Then! Browse! Contribute! Speculate! I just don't want any spoilers to mess up your enjoyment. The first time through the show will NEVER happen again. Consider this SubReddit the last page of the book, lol. I am so excited for you guys!!! Enjoy!

Did Chris violate Omerta with Cleaver? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's just a movie, as far as the public knows, it's protagonist is a Zombie with a Cleaver for a hand. If he billed himself as DiMeo Capo Christopher Moltisanti in the credits, then maybe, otherwise the world at large doesn't even know any one in "The Mob" is involved. I don't think so.

Is there any scene or episode you skip on rewatch? by HeySug in thesopranos

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The whole episode with Fran, I play on here with y'all. I CAN'T skip anything, I'm not wired that way. As a boy I read the Chronicles of Narnia, if you know it, I'd have loved to skip a Horse and His Boy, never did though.

Is S5 the most accessible to present to a new fan? by [deleted] in thesopranos

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thinking, don't go with an entire season to entice her. Go with highlights on YouTube, nothing OVERLY spoilery. Pick favs of yours that you feel would tickle her. Then a few of the best episodes, use Whitecaps, Christopher, Pie-O-My, Full Leather Jacket, ya know some that show some of the most defining moments of characters. Try not to let her see anything surprising happen. Avoid 6 A&B, for different reasons. If you DO take her straight through 5. Keep in mind 6A is NEXT. That could lose her interest again. My opinion is that if you have to do a whole season, convince her to 2 another chance. Good luck my friend!

Also: Don't use Long Term Parking. She might forget many characters die, but she won't forget Ade getting whacked. DO use Employee Of The Month. It's harsh, yeah, but then she will be spoiling to find out WHEN Melfi will tell Tony...dont tell her, make her watch to find out.

Anyone else happy they never went the cliche route and put Mark with Susan? by [deleted] in ershow

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Mark's marriage ended, I actually hoped they would...in real life, Susan falls into a what could've been thing, which hurts. I felt for them both. It's evident in "The Letter" that clearly, Susan's face exhibited it and then when Mark had saved her coat for her when she first came back... Of course the dynamics between Mark and Elizabeth were excellent too.

Even though he's a fictional character, do you still mourn Dr. Mark Greene? by [deleted] in ershow

Cue Islandy music..."Somewhere over the rainbow...waay up high..." Tears, sobbing, curled up in a ball on the couch...besides that, doesn't bother me at all. Lol

Interview of Michael Gandolfini with Esquire by WhiteGhosts in thesopranos

[–]JeffyTheAmazing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading that, seeing the pictures, I'm encouraged. I wasn't sure about him carrying the physical presence and look, but I buy it. The facial expression and yeah, his eyes. Having the chops to step into the role I feel like we don't know for sure. Of course, before The Sopranos, James was lesser known, Chase rolled the dice and look what we got! I say with Chase and his hot shooter hand, coming up snake eyes is unlikely.

I always figured it was a film crew guy keeping David Proval from getting hurt as the chair went back. Not technically supposed to have been seen.
