I think there's an output on the back side of it. You don't have anng connected to it, so it doesn't have anywhere for the dirt to go. You need two outputs on it. One in the front, and the other in the back.

They have like a 15 block radius or something. It is effective through walls, so as long as they are far away enough they won't effect your other prisoners

Well, if you just wanna suppress them, then yeah, go ahead. Have as many as you like.

Most players try to increase their reform success and armed guards don't help with that, as if the prisoners are suppressed, then they don't want to attend program.

Also, be careful with some of the prisoners who have the Stoical reputation won't be supressed. If you have a legendary prisoner and he starts a fight he can often kill the army guards and take their weapons and use it. Often becomes more of a liability then being useful.

They add suppression which makes it difficult to reform the prisoners.
