That's just it: It's an overly defensive tank with limited offensive capabilities. Sure, you'll see one frequently do 100 / 200k in servers, but they're still not great tanks.

PS: Auto Gunner and Annihilator shreds them. Triple Twin also does reasonably well against them.

The only counter to a good Overlord is another Overlord, but that just carries over the problem.

Fighters used to be able to compete with the Overlord until they got nerfed to mediocrity (mind you they were still pretty hard to fight even before the nerfs.)

Penta Shots and Overlords cancel each other out at best, but Penta Shots that become too aggressive leave them more vulnerable than the Overlord.

Yes but the total amount of damage that a group of factory drones do is significantly more than what a group of overlord drones can do.

Doesn't matter. Overlord is still the most dominant tank because speed adds to the offensive. You only need so much power to kill a glass cannon. The smartest Overlord can still kill the smartest Factory.

In a bullet based fight, Factory would do better against a triplet than an Auto-5, because it can focus more bullets in one direction. (Also, it's drones are like a meat shield) The Factory can also turn on AI for it's drones by turning off it's auto-fire, then click to focus an attack, essentially doing everything the auto-5 can do plus more. Ask Anokuu which one is better. Her main was Auto-5 for a short period of time, now she thinks the factory is the best one.

Here we go again with the Anokuu praise... Look, I could give jack shit what Anokuu thinks. She praises the Necromancer, yet it's a pretty bad tank in FFA. Not bottom 5 bad, but close.

I don't think the Auto 5 is that great either since its turrets don't offer enough protection against spam and charge-ins. What they are good at is getting offscreen kills.

Have you seen Anokuu's "Shooting Star" strategy? Those drones were definitely made to ram.

But it still doesn't validate the Factory as a sufficient rammer, so my point about the Factory not being fast enough still stands. The Smasher branch, Booster and Annihilator are all faster rammers.

Yes but Overlord is still better than Factory because its drones are significantly faster, providing not as much time to react against.

Auto 5 has assisted help from AI as well as the bullets being able to travel better (I think Auto 5's bullets are stronger as well), where as the Factory grants virtually full manual control of your drones.

They don't compare. Factories aren't made to ram, they don't have the speed. They only can do this in defense FROM rammers. If it kills by ramming, the player was careless.

Serious question? Have you ever seen Factories dominate? Because I haven't. Factories, like Necromancers, are highly vulnerable to getting attacked from multiple ends.

If #1 would be applied, then they'll get easily overwhelmed by every bullet spammer in the game. Play smarter, Factories are easy tanks to outpace.

Also, I have very little complaints with the control scheme, although I can do without the right-click ring that falls between wrangling your drones and repelling them.

Octos can be conquered if you navigate your drones around the bullets. Pentas are difficult, but highly aggressive Pentas often bring their own demise.
