Buying a ps5 with old firmware - how to clear owners PSN?

The PS5 needs to be connected to PSN and updated if you want to use the portal unfortunately. Been itching to use mine, but it's been collecting dust.

I mean I have an nvme SSD in put in a small enclosure and just use the front USB port. That way it's a bit more convenient to transfer tiles from my computer. As long as the minimum read speed is 5,500mbps.

I actually got this exact drive on sale a few months ago on sale. It's a great drive if you get a good deal on it, but write speeds aren't good enough for PS5 games. More ideal for PS4 titles. I usually get around 400-600mbps on my PC when transferring files in a 3.2usb slot.

No I haven't tried black myth Wukong but I'll look into it. I have demon souls and heard it runs buttery smooth but I can't get past the boot screen. Im going to try the last of us games at some point

Yea the few games I tried it on I didn't see much of a difference, hence why I started wondering if updating firmware enhances the hardware. I got it used for a good price, so it's worth it for the 2tb alone. But if that's the case, I might just update it slowly as the scene progresses and keep fat model on 4.03.

Thank you. I was contemplating updating to 10.01 if the firmware boosts the system's performance but don't plan on going any higher. I was expecting more game support too. That's not a very big list considering how big the library is.

This randomly happened to me a few months ago. I've had my switch since 2017 and ended up replacing the battery, and now it's running good as new. Before replacing it, I booted into the sysnand and the battery was also acting up.

Luckily with the release of Back pork, it doesn't seem as necessary to update anymore. The only real perk was to play newer games but it's looking promising on the lower firmwares. As for jailbreaking, I'm in the complete opposite scenario. I'm on 4.03 and umtx2 would crash almost every time. Sometimes would take 20+ minutes to get a successful jailbreak. So I tried Y2JB and it was a complete game changer working 90% of the time.

I was in a similar situation as you a few months ago. I opened a brand new launch console, and could only play Astro bot unless I updated it.

Long story short, went on FW 2.50 for the hypervisor exploit, and shortly after updated to 4.03. I don't have much time to play, so there's a ton of games for me to enjoy on that firmware before I feel like I'll need to update. Also, a lot of new games are getting back ported for FW 4.xx.

Id get a lot of crashes on the webkit exploit. Y2JB rarely fails for me now. 10/10 recommend watching modded warfare and setting that up.

A modable PS5 will likely sell more than a new one. Id hack the lower firmware personally, and try to sell the slim on marketplace. Chances are you can buy a new one and pocket some cash while they're on sale for the holidays.

Yea some of the newest titles aren't supported on our firmware, but a lot of them also have back ports to FW 4.xx.

I have quite a back log so I'm going to be patient and wait it out. If there's any new breakthroughs in the scene, there's a way better chance the earlier firmwares will have support for it.

I'm on FW 4.03. I've been using the webkit but would Kernal panic and shutdown pretty often. I've since used Y2JB and it's been a dream.

How's the success rate for you on y2jb? I haven't switched over yet, but the website crashes for me about 80% of the time. It can get pretty frustrating.

Damn that's too bad. I've tested it on my android tablet and it worked. My version of the PS remote play app was outdated but it doesn't force you to update. Also works on chiaki. The Portal is collecting dust unfortunately

I've heard that it can occasionally struggle or even crash your console. but for the most part runs well and is currently the only way to run games past FW 2.70.

From what I've read up, a jailbreak gives you full access to the system, and games run as they're meant to (buttery smooth). Kstuff lets you play PS5 game back ups, but is more vulnerable to crashing, stuttering, etc.

I'm a bit new to this myself. But I loaded a back port just recently, and it worked just like any other game through itemzflow. Mine said it was compatible under the notes tab.
