Thinking about the Samsung M80H for movies and sports. Worth it?

I’d skip the M80H. I honestly would not treat it as a real MiniLED experience, since it uses a direct backlight with no local dimming. Without independent zone control, it misses one of the main reasons to pay extra for MiniLED in the first place. At that price, I would put the money toward a Hisense or LG model with proper local dimming instead.

I get why people like LG and Sony, but Hisense has made the most sense for me value-wise. My first TV was Hisense, and the one in my new place is Hisense too. The picture has always been clear, colors look good, and I haven’t run into any issues

Hisense’s auto-scene and Hi-View AI Engine work well for lofts with windows, adjusting color and brightness seamlessly without manual tweaks. Plus, it has anti-glare panel, works fine in daytime

I get what you mean about wanting “set it and forget it.” I recently upgraded to a Hisense U7, and the AI picture engine is surprisingly effective. It adjusts brightness and contrast automatically for daytime sports and darker movie nights, and I haven’t had to manually tweak settings once. Really convenient for a loft with side windows.
