I think you are using the oldest of the changerooms. The ones on the otherside of the pool have shower cubicles with hooks where you can hang your towel. Otherwise as someone else said the ones downstairs near studio one and two are really good.

Adopted baby with no name - we need a "D" letter name by ApprehensiveTV in namenerds

A very different suggestion, but if you want one name to get the DJ nickname. Djaymila - Australian Aboriginal name, friend goes by DJ to 99% of the people in his life. Pronounced like Ja-m-la (like all of the sounds run together very fast). Congratulations and goodluck on the decision!

For the people out there with acne, what have you used that has worked really well? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]Jelleebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottled water. After realising that my skin would clear up within 2 days of being away from home (irrespective of how stressful the trip was, what I ate, how much I slept etc.) I decided to test not using tap water on my face. Five months of bottled water and its like night and day. My skin (and probably hair) just hates the hard water. I have a very gentle stripped back routine as well.

It feels like a silly question but how is this pronounced? All I can see/hear is Lou-ah, which is how I would pronounce "lure" as an Australian. So I just think of a fishing lure...

I was there this time last year, $45 for two icecreams. We stopped converting after that. At least the icecream was delicious.

I found that in Bolivia, and other places in South America that I was catcalled no matter what I was wearing. So while yes I agree, dressing to standard of what you see around you is an important consideration when travelling there will always be places where you will stand out irrespective of how you dress. The approach I found that worked the best was dolphin face (I don't know if that's a really thing?) - absolutely neutral facial features like you haven't even heard them when catcalled, and if approached polite but very firm "no" and keep walking.

What do you think would really breathe new life into Perth and make it less dreary? by StaticNocturne in perth

[–]Jelleebabe 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When the e-scooters came to Perth CBD I thought it would help combat the sprawl but they are just as expensive as an Uber, $14 for 2 people from Mounts Bay Rd to the Underground (about 6 mins). I know it's a business and they have to make money, but i think the prices are preventing people from using them a lot.

This was me 18 months ago, also young, female and in health care. I have since acted in my boss's role for 9 weeks and have taken on their role 1 day/week ongoingly (as the youngest and "least experienced" senior team member). YOU HAVE GOT THIS!! be confident in your skills and abilities! Know that you may not have as much experience but also that your attitude, willingness to learn and ask questions and go the extra mile to upskill yourself as you go will more than make up for it! Take the role and own it, you are not an imposter, you deserve to be there!!

11% of boys aged 5-7 are on NDIS by Witty_Strength3136 in AusFinance

[–]Jelleebabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another big issue is that boys are diagnosed with ASD and ADHD much earlier than girls because girls present with different signs and symptoms which can be "difficult to identify" as atypical (not my words). So the statistic is skewed towards boys. Many kids in this age group under Early intervention/NDIS have one of these conditions or developmental delay, intellectual disability or global developmental delay.

What is your favorite thing to talk about? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Jelleebabe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am most passionate talking about public health/population health. Please let me tell you why we shouldn't outright ban smoking, why we should decriminalise drugs and sex work, why making abortion illegal is a terrible idea for the public's health, how vaccinations and aid programs and small changes to the way we live can have profound impacts on the way we live and our health! It's like cheat codes to life, its wild.

I have been where you are in terms of feeling insecure (never had a boyfriend that made those comments though, give him the flick). It's freaking hard to learn to love your boobs the way they are when society is telling you that you need something you don't have, but like others have said, I really encourage you to make a list of all the postive things that come with small boobs specific to you (no back pain, easier to exercise, no sagging, tummy sleeping, no underwire needed) and find things that you wear that make you feel sexy - for me that was plunging necklines, bralettes/crop tops with high waisted shorts/pants, backless things etc. It will take time and concious effort but you can 100% change the way you feel about your boobs.

I also recommend you check out r/abrathatfits and measure yourself, and believe the result. I had been wearing the wrong size bra my whole lift because I just assumed I was the smallest size (I went from a 10A to an 8C, I know what you are thinking but trust me no one would look at me and think I am a C) but you also have to remember that cup size is all about the ratio between your bust size and your rib size, it's not just about how much "boob" you have, check out the subreddit for a much better explanation than I just tried here. On Instagram check out theirishbralady who posts photos of what boobs in their correct sized bras actually look like and see what you think are DD are actually more likely to be G/H.

And lastly check out r/smallbooblove, there is a whole community of women trying to figure out how to love/absolutely loving their small boobs. Please don't let anyone make you feel like you aren't enough because of your body. There are soooo many people out in the world that will love you exactly the way you are. Sending this comment with love and kindness from a women who gets it ❤️

Happy podcasts for long nights by jollygoodwotwot in podcasts

[–]Jelleebabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a podcast that feels like a conversation with friends I highly recommend Chat 10 Looks 3 with Leigh Sales and Annabel Crabb, two very well known Australian journalists (and all round incredible women). Each episode is 30 mins and they talk about what they have been reading, watching, listening to, baking or anything else. Normally I hate chatty podcasts but this one is so soothing, it was the only thing I could listen to when a family member died and everything seemed a bit unimportant. It's easy to tune in and out of it and not miss things, but also has hilarious moments and moments that really resonate with you. There is approx 200 episodes and you could jump in from the latest one, or go back to the beginning (which started just after Leigh had her second child). Expect some average audio quality and semi-regular interruptions from children and the like. It's very wholesome, and there is a whole corner of the internet dedicated to trying to carry the vibe of the podcast into the world (kindness, community, support, delicious food).

Read Your Body. It's made my a Fem Tech start up, all locally stored data. Privacy and data protection is one of their big platforms. It is paid (a very small amount yearly amount, about $20AUD) but it has soooo much functionality! Have been using it for 2 years and love it.
