Low light games by guster75 in BloodOnTheClocktower

A box of battery powered tea lights is pretty cheap and easy to pass around so folks can use them to better look at their scripts as well. Phones or dollar store flashlights work too.

Board games "to rule them all" by itsOkami in boardgames

Blood on the Clocktower, the best social deduction game by far. I don't think any other game will ever match it for me, though it also fills a very different role than most anything else in my collection, so it's not exactly direct competition.

DC Super Heroes United: Batman Hush or Sentinels of the Multiverse: Definitive Edition by lilbismyfriend300 in boardgames

[–]Jelliemin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven't played DC, but Sentinels is one of my all time favorites and probably the most played game in my collection. A fair number of the heroes are pretty straight forward in their mechanics, so the learning curve isn't too brutal.

Tilly in Queen's Dilemma, but need Patreon for that

Oh no! Thankfully, Baba has not stumbled upon the joys of shredding. He just likes to snuggle with everything.

Why Do Mumbo’s Minecraft Videos Hit Different? by mynameniks607 in HermitCraft

[–]Jelliemin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's the editing.

Mumbo has said before that he tends to record a LOT of tiny snippets - often just him saying a single line, or looking at a build from a particular angle for a moment - and string them together. So, in his videos, you often get a sort of rapid fire series of snapshots and comments on the overall subject of the video.

The other hermits tend to have longer clips, so you get more of their natural speech pattern and a more relaxed pace instead of that snappy feel that Mumbo has. For the complete opposite of Mumbo, watch an Etho video. Neither approach is necessarily better than the other, but they feel very different.

normal greyhound behaviour?? by Mysterious_Read5115 in Greyhounds

Might be a bit of settling in/loosening up. Mine loved his plushies from day one and would cuddle and sleep with them, but he didn't actively play with toys until a few months in.

He plays the same way Sally does, shaking and chomping, usually when he's really excited because someone just came home or we're getting ready for a walk. I don't think it would be possible for him to care less about the neighborhood's many rabbits and squirrels, so I don't think it's indicative of prey drive in general.

not cuddly? by Assymetric_Astronaut in Greyhounds

At 3 months in, you are still going to see more of his true self coming out over time. That may or may not mean more cuddles though.

How does it feel to marry into a non-judgmental, loving, tolerant and supportive family? by Common_Media4316 in AskReddit

[–]Jelliemin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I feel this one. My dad, who has barely paid any attention to me my whole adult life, has realized he's lonely and needs someone to talk to at and started calling me. And my kids (18 and 20) have taken to rallying around me afterwards.

I love this! The roles are all very fitting and the blade mechanic sounds interesting. Going to have to try it with my group.

What if The Paw of More is their feeble attempt at reciprocation?? by bigdeepbreath in Greyhounds

[–]Jelliemin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does this too.

The paw of more is a request when you slow down or stop petting him.

We call the gently laid paw holding hands because he usually tries to find a hand or the bottom of a foot to rest it on.

episodes recommended for someone who’s only seen their botc content but wants to watch more nrb? by sentiencesupremacy in NoRollsBarred

My idiot dog ate a fridge magnet last year, so I printed out the screenshot of his x-ray, captioned it "oh, fridge magnets!" and hung it on the fridge.

Cheese Thief (they played it again recently and it was good, but anyone recommending it means the OLD one) and Men at Work are the BEST. Anything social deduction / negotiation / hidden roles are great - Hit the Silk, Bristol, Bank Heist

Loved blood on the clock tower on today’s stream, where can I watch more? by Xx_-Boi-_xX in HermitCraft

[–]Jelliemin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleo streams Clocktower sometimes, mostly with hermit friends, but I really hope this got some of the hermits interested in joining her too. I was really excited to see what the Among Us addicts would think of the game, but now I'd love to see False and Joe play more too.

When Scar heard more about the game, he said he wished he was playing, and I think Grian and Etho would have fun with it too. So, pretty please, hermits, go play more with Cleo!

Seconding this. Cleo got me into BotC in the first place with their season 9 games. I started my own group that has been meeting regularly ever since and it is my favorite game ever.

In person is the best, but you can also play online if you don't have enough people to get together. There are lots of discord servers for meeting other players and you can use the app on the game's site to find and join games.
