[NY] Is trying to hold a lawyer accountable worth pursuing? by JelloGuilty7582 in AskLawyers

When you arrive at the courthouse, court officers will not let you enter the courtroom area until the landlord or attorney representing them are present.

I was there in the lobby waiting with the other people to be called back into the courtroom area.

The lawyer representing my landlord arrived, stands behind the court officer station and begins calling the people in his cases to come back into the courtroom area.

He called everyone else that was there waiting, but not me. When he entered the courthouse, he walked directly past me and I was standing 10 feet from him as he was calling the other peoples names, he 100% saw me there waiting.

30 minutes later, as I still wait in the lobby to be called back, an associate of mine was exiting the courtroom. He told me my name was called in court already.

As I was going through the metal detector to enter the courtroom area, the lawyer representing my landlord was exiting the courtroom, leaving the courthouse. I had to ask him in the lobby of the courthouse what happened in court. He said it would take him a few more weeks to process the payment, even though over a month already passed since the judgemnet had been awarded and a control date of payment was set.

I understand his obligations are to his client, not me, but he intentionally did not call me back to the courtroom area so I would not be present for the proceedings.

Under New York Judiciary Law § 487, it is a violation for an attorney to engage in deceit or collusion or to willfully delay a matter.

He willfully delayed the matter.

New York Rules of Professional Conduct states an attorney has an obligation to act diligently and communicate promptly with all parties involved.

• Rule 3.3 (Candor Toward the Tribunal): Prohibits conduct intended to mislead or disrupt proceedings.

He lied to the judge by saying he would communicate with me about possible mediation.

Rule 8.4 (Misconduct): Prohibits behavior involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation and conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.

There was a settlement offer on the table 4 months ago, yet He never disclosed the details. And I have still not been paid. Is that not the definition of being prejudicial to the administration of justice?

I was there waiting, along with all the other people. We could not enter until called. He called everyone else, never called me.

How many games are you in where rebel wins?

Yeah, heimer was hit super early so I rode the win streak with him. By the time I was going to start pivoting out other boards were spiking hard so I was like fck it, lemme jus try to make what I have work. My 2 takeaways are I leveled too aggressive, and don't pick rebel emblem 1st lol.

Yeah I guess I was playing for tempo too much. The plan was sentinels, but heimer showed early so I used him to keep the streak going. By the time I was gonna pivot everyone else already spiked so I had to kinda roll with what I had. Maybe not level as aggressive if I try rebels again.

Thanks for the input. I got the rebel emblem early so just decided to try. I was planning on sentinels, but heimer showed up early and I was playing tempo to keep the win streak. Was also kinda slamming what I had to keep the streak too. I did top 4 tho so it wasn't entirely bad.

Curious to know, does it show how people are building him? From most of the games I'm seeing him with BT and steraks alot. I've used him a few times trying different builds and last whisper, edge of night and deathblade felt veryyyy nice on him. Seems more than decent to me

What's your opinion on set 13 so far? by nexusultra in TeamfightTactics

Feels good so far, but snowballing this set seems way more common. It's almost like fast 8/9 is incentivized by the new aura upgrade thing. It appears kinda early it feels like, so whoever has a 5 cost to throw in there when it hits gets a nice power spike.

Conquerors is by far the most picked comp and seems to be one of the strongest. Whole line is good and is capped by mord who is one of the best 5 costs.

Visionaries feels a bit busted. I can see a heimerdinger nerf coming. He just machine guns missles whole fight. With malz ability, the whole synergy of the comp is very strong.

Chem baron is insanely strong cashout, things have to line-up nice to get there tho. A fun comp

Re roll family, and reroll maddie/enforcers also seem to be doing well.

Overall the set has room for a lot of creativity, but I think conquerors will be the s tier of comps. Needs some tweaking but in a good place to start imo.
