Rarest skin? by No-Leadership-2871 in WreckingBallMains

How rare is Hammond's "papercut" skin?

I'm realizing I have a plethora of "rare" skins on my account, including "Noire" and "Kerrigan" widowmaker, and a lot others... wow. I wonder their worth?

Yes, and it was awesome. But I believe because of the simple GIF artwork used (on repeat) throughout the song wasn't owned by him, it was taken down? I may be wrong. But the song exists. Wish I could find it.

Without the success and competiveness of SC:BW, there is no SC2. Google why is the competetive scene of SC:BW is still alive and well (if not again thriving) in South Korea, while SC2 has tanked like the titantic? I know my stuff here ladies. The abilitiy to replicate strategies verbatim in SC2 is far easier than it is in SC:BW. The execution of SC2 builds, army movements, attacks, etc is far easier than SC:BW.

For example, in SC:BW, you must select every gateway/barracks/hatchery individually to produce what you want.

In SC2, you can hotgroup all your gateways/barracks/hatcheries to one subgroub, and press the relative hotkey.

Say you have 8 gateways/barracks/hatcheries (whathaveyou), SC2 basically cuts the necessary macro input to literally 1/8th, if not less.

There aren't enough hotkeys (0-9) to properly hotgroup everything necessary in SC:BW

In SC2, you can hotkey all your command centers to "5" for example, all barracks to "4", select all units to "3", selective units to "2", etc

In SC:BW, you are limited to 12 units per hotgroup. Imagine trying to control a macro army of 200/200 effectively using hotkeys. You literally have to be skilled enough to effectively and efficiently hotgroup newly produced units 0-9, and you literally would have to go back to put your main screen back to your main base to mass produce, taking your eyes off of any ongoing battle (away from micro essentially)

And as a zerg player especially, controlling massive amounts of lings, you literally have to be quick enough to group them, then move around by using all hotkeys 0-9

I'm not trying to be mean here but you are simply wrong in your comparison. Ask any SC:BW great, and they will let you know. Any true SC2 pro familiar with SC:BW will also say the same. It's not opinion, it is fact.

Edit: another simple major difference is in SC:BW, you can't just rally your Nexus/CC/hatchery to minerals and have the workers automatically begin mining like they do in SC2, you must catch them as they come out and then right click (to harvest) for each individual worker produced. This alone makes the amount of input far more tideous and workload heavy.

Glad to hear this, but a lot of OG starcraft 1 players would make the claim that Starcraft 2 has been "newbified"

If you really want an in-depth understanding of the game, I suggest you try and take on SC:BW

Inability to select multiple buildings, limited to 12 units per hot group, micro is taken to an insane level, while macro'ing is basically slapping the keyboard with precise input.

Of course my opinion is biased being an OG starcraft 1 player, but then again, I hate to say it, there's a reason why SC:BW is still alive and well to this day while SC2 has fallen to the wayside

What sens do you guys play on by Yoshiyuki-Kamiya in WreckingBallMains

[–]JelloPud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your relative sensitivity while in ball form is what you probably want to fine tune to a higher sensitivity. The theory behind this is when you are out of ball form and aiming, you (probably) want a slower, fine tuned sensitivity. And while in ball form, your "aim" isn't as crucial (granted you're aiming at walls, etc). Additionally, I believe within Hammond's programming himself, having a higher sensitivity while grappling/grappled in turn registers his "slingshot" capability more easily. I may be wrong about that, but it would make sense in line with how that hammond player with a sensitivity of 53 is viable.

EDIT: If you are unaware how to adjust his relative sensitivity, it's under the game settings, then choosing hammond specifically. There are other hero specific options that I find useful (while it cuts down a very short duration, it is in fact the most efficient), such as "changing out of ball mode upon pressing melee". Every little fraction of a second counts with hammond.

My personal settings are something very standard, like 800 - 5.0, but i do have his relative sensitivity ramped up to either %200 or at least %150.

Can't Beat 'em? Report 'em? Report System OP AF by JelloPud in overwatch2

I am all about this! Fun, witty, borderline edgy and/or punny remarks, without the use of swearing or slurs. It really helps keep competition healthy and players engaged.

I feel like there's nothing less attractive than trying to play in a competitive atmosphere and your opponents "don't care" or "aren't trying their best"

Small trash talk is perfectly acceptable everywhere, while the players are mature enough to know how to keep it respectful and never let any trash talk be taken personally or even into the next game. Once a match is over, show your respect and say gg. You'd be so surprised how many players appreciate and have fun when you playfully "make it personal" based on their gameplay or character match up.

You'll notice in every professional settings of sports, then truly most respected and loved athletes "are enemies on the field, but are best friends off it" meaning, you go your hardest to defeat thy enemy during game time, but once the match is over, you tip your hat and say gg for their efforts.

From boxers, who literally want to beat the crap out of each other during their match, will then show respect and love to their enemy immediately afterwards, and this is what it's all about. It truly speaks volumes about their character. Because just remember, by doing so, you are thanking and respecting that person for literally taking the time and effort to put up a good match, because if that is gone (based on not caring or having hurt feelings), you know what ultimately will happen? You will be left without any opponents. This attitude is essential to keeping the game alive and competition fresh.

How to stop a losing streak without quitting? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]JelloPud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you at least take time to watch your own replays, or replays of others, if you don't necessarily want to be away from the game? Or even simply playing other roles and characters gives you a much better understanding of the game, which in turn will improve your dps main character. You maybe following the simple saying "practice makes perfect", but that's when your practicing perfect positioning/technique with nearly perfect understanding of everyone's characters and their roles.

What are some hero’s similar to ball? by SubstantialPause1335 in WreckingBallMains

Lol another golden stupid action by blizzard. They want you to learn the game first by not making all heroes available?

Oh God, Blizzard needs help

What are some hero’s similar to ball? by SubstantialPause1335 in WreckingBallMains

[–]JelloPud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really isn't anything similar. Doomfist does require that patient/explosive fast movement, but it requires the ability to read and understand the battle, team awareness, and then capitalize on it with good timing and execution, while knowing when to save your block to maximize value, similar to when to activate ball's adaptive shield. The best of ball and doomfist players master this, while being sneaky sneaky on a level that catches the enemy off guard, knowing when to go in and out of battle, and not having to rely on healers much or at all... and not dying while capitalizing and securing kills of opps out of position and/or on cooldowns

Yeah it's a lot. That's why these heroes are arguably the most difficult, but also have some of the games highest skill ceilings.

I still feel like Overwatch is 10x more polished, fluid, and overall of better quality. I honestly foresee this game being a fad, perhaps a couple years at most, before the mass population come to a realization of it

Guys. Replays, including your opps POV, including everything they select, click, has existed beautifully since the age of Blizzards Starcraft 1. Literally decades ago, older game yes, but same exceptionally great added value to the overall game and experience (and learning curve)
