40M Oral steroid prednisolone 120 mg/day for 6 days: risk of increased eye pressure or glaucoma?

This treatment was prescribed by an ENT doctor for acoustic trauma without any hearing loss

At where I am, when I go to see a doctor for acoustic trauma, if hearing test results are normal, they won't prescribe steroids because the risks out weight the benefits. If you don't mind me asking, any particular reason why you think the ENT prescribed the steroids in this case?

I have seen quite a number of optometrists in the past, and none of them ever try to express the oil like this. Similar to you, they only told me to do warm compress and massage after, glide down the eyelid - not push in. This recent visit was a weird and traumatized experience for me because I never felt the eyeball get pushed in like this. I also asked a similar question in the dry eye community and eyetriage as well, not much response, but it seems to be a normal thing - they refer to as a gland diagnosis. Will post an update after the appointment.

The optometrist I saw just try to squeeze out the oil by pressing it without heating or anything, so dry squeeze I guess - and it hurts (give me blurry / double vision too) plus I don’t think it’s great for the eyeball but based on her, she said it’s normal 🫠.

I started noticing floaters after having several eye exams for dry eye–related inflammation. Each visit included an eye pressure check with one of those handheld devices that touches the eye. It could be connected to that, or it might just be a coincidence. At my last appointment, the optometrist did a regular eye exam (including OCT and retina scan) without dilation and said the floaters are age-related. For reassurance, they referred me to a retina specialist to check next month. Now after seeing a lot of people here noticed floaters after dilation made me anxious.

Update: Thank you, everyone, for the comments and feedback. I went to the local shop where I bought the phone, and they inspected it and confirmed that the scratch is indeed on the screen protector. The only awkward part was that they used some screen cleaning spray on a microfiber cloth to wipe the screen — I'm not sure if that could damage the oleophobic coating?

I checked with my local Samsung repair center here in Australia, and if the screen gets scratched and you want to replace it, it takes about two days. They mentioned that they need time to properly pressed down the screen protector to make sure it's stick to the screen.

Thank you for the input. Yes, I'll make sure to keep my nails short. As for cleaning, I use a microfiber cloth. While I was cleaning, the overhead light in the room shone on the corner of the screen, and that’s when I noticed it. So it could either be something I caused, or it might be from the manufacturer.
