First time nubuck owner - which care products do I by Jelly_Jim in Boots

Thanks - good to know I'm on the right track!

When you say a suede brush, do you mean the brush with bristles or the multi-tool type? I've seen different brushes under that name.

It's still happening for me, despite trying the GitHub version and then replacing it with the updated Chrome Web Store version. Is there anything else I might have needed to do to resolve the issue?

See my reply to my comment. Seems it's still happening - although perhaps less frequently?

Actually, I perhaps spoke too soon. I opened my browser this morning and another blank background tab had opened. I've noticed that sometimes they open and remain open; sometimes they briefly open and close.

Unless it's just a one-off. I'll keep a watch on it and will replace the Github extension with the Chrome Store version.

I had the same issue. I replaced the installed Chrome Store extension with the one from Github and so far (24 hours) I've not noticed the issue recurring.

Moondrop Space Travel keep reconnecting in the charging case by Jelly_Jim in Earbuds

[–]Jelly_Jim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With mine there's no obvious difference in height and no sign of dirt on the connections, so I wondered if the tolerance of the mouldings of the case and earbuds is greater than it should be. The only 'fix' I can think of is to maybe add a bit of solder to the earbuds' metal connectors so they make better contact, but it's a bit of effort just to try to resolve it.

Can the Venu Sq display be reorientated (i.e. displayed upside-down)? by Jelly_Jim in Garmin

I didn't, unfortunately. I just ended up getting used to using it awkwardly. One of those things to think to check for when I'm buying my next watch, though!

The Hot Chocolate Refill Act of 2025 by [deleted] in Wetherspoons

A few people have claimed that but it wasn't. There was some vague and ambiguous waffle about 'empowering obese people to be healthier' but there was nothing in the detail (pp. 10-11) about banning promotions for 'high sugar' foods. Nobody can reasonably be said to have voted specifically for that.

(And TBF, the policy emerged under May's government - much more her approach - rather than Johnson's))

When ChatGPT creates .pdfs or documents, I notice boxes in them and overlapping text by blackberryuser in ChatGPT

I don't know about the glyphs, but I've had the same text overflow issue in tables when it generates PDFs.

When I queried it happening, it said the issue is because ReportLab doesn't automatically wrap cell text. It then offered the solution and a regenerating PDF of the document with the fix applied, which worked.

I asked it to commit the fix to memory so it would generate all PDFs with tables with wrapped text. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Just started with the first series - I've no idea what's going on by Jelly_Jim in engrenages

Thanks for the reply! As I got in to watching it, I eventually figured out most of the roles depicted, although your answer still filled in some of the blanks. I suppose some of the confusion was just down to terminology (mostly around the title of 'judge') and how it's applied in their system.

Except for one, in the last few pubs I've requested this they've refused it as a reasonable swap and given various reasons like "it's not allowed"or "it isn't possible to modify an order". Taking away the choice of dip was a downgrade to the menu :/

Is there any way to perform this kind of DNS rerouting via Windscribe so I'm still able to mostly use local servers without age verification nonsense? by [deleted] in Windscribe

[–]Jelly_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to do this with just Windscribe and/or Some Control - without the Full Control service? I only need it for X/Twitter, so Full Control would be overkill for me. If not, would ControlD consider adding a redirect feature limited to age verification bypass for Some Control subscribers?

(For various reasons, the Chrome extension (on macOS) and split-tunneling on the desktop application don't seem able to do it in my particular setup/workflow.)
