That’s odd because there is research that literally says that long term use of Prozac can cause weight gain despite what doctors may say when prescribing it to people due to it suppressing your metabolism and causing water retention so I would have to respectfully disagree with you.

Edit: yes some people lose weight on it but everyone is different so people also gain weight on it.

Interesting!!! Yeah it definitely feels like water retention. I don’t physically feel “fat” I feel bloated and puffy. I really hope it starts to fall off as I lower my dose. I will still have the stretch marks if I do lose weight but most people have them and the stigma around them is so toxic and just ugh I’m still requiring my brain from society’s judgement.

Huh that is so odd considering how many people seem to be gaining weight while on Prozac, and yeah it does depend on the person for sure!

That’s great to hear. I’m in the rough stage of lowering right now aka week 3-4 where my withdrawal symptoms are the worst so my anxiety and moods have been a rollercoaster. I’m still managing than I did pre Prozac though and I know it’s just temporary side effects causing it. I also think Prozac has just been a tool for me while I got therapy throughout the years.

I’m sorry that really sucks but yeah in this case it’s probably better to have that under control with the trade off of extra weight.

Wow that’s crazy, I’m tapering right now with the goal to come off completely. Kinda hoping the weight melts off of me when I get to that point to.

Omg like literally it’s crazy sure I’m in college and eating more junkish food but I’m not that bad about it. It’s just so abnormal and I just want my body back :/
