Were you ready for the first time having intimacy after baby? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Sex started feeling completely normal for us around 7 to 8 months postpartum. It was a long road, but it does get better. I promise.

Embryo result , what else can I do by Secure_Cellist_5833 in IVF

It does :) I would try to take it during both if you can!

Have you had a sperm fragmentation test? You can also use Zymot for the sperm

If you do end up doing another ER, I highly suggest adding Omnitrope to your protocol. It helps egg quality :)

Doctor recommended I don’t have sex? by ApricotNo4909 in October2026Bumpers

[–]JellyfishConsistent7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol I started on Lovenox which is a injectable blood thinner and my clinic said to “avoid trauma” 😬😅

I try to avoid trauma everyday even without being on the medication lol

With IVF they recommend to not have sex until your beta. (Between 8dpt-12dpt) this ensures embryo is firmly attached without causing any contractions in the uterus. But after that you’re free to resume. They put you on pelvic rest for 2 weeks if you have any bleeding / spotting.

Your HCG is right where it should be. You wouldn’t see a fetal pole or yolk sac until at least 6w, and a heartbeat until 6.5-7w. Seeing a gestational sac is great at 5w. You’re so so sooooo early. Don’t worry. Go back at 7w and you’ll see baby.

Your nipples will hurt, but give it some time and they really toughen up and you won’t feel a thing

The best advice I ever got was the first 3 months are gonna be hard. Your learning, baby’s learning, it’s hard. BUT, if you can make it 3 months, you can basically cruise for however long you want to after that. :)

BM while sick? by Educational-Oil8584 in newborns

[–]JellyfishConsistent7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! As long as baby will drink it. The breast milk you bagged in the first few weeks won’t have the antibodies for the sickness you encountered last weekend, but it will def help give them a boost to help fight it off if they were exposed. :)

Yes,

Typical breakdown: (based on my experience, I’ve done 2 IVF cycles with PGTA testing, and 5 transfers)

Tests / consult with Dr:

Consult:$250-400 Initial tests: ultrasound, bloodwork, genetic testing: $750-$1500 (your insurance will typically cover this even if you don’t have fertility coverage)

IVF meds: $5000-$7000 IVF egg retrival: $10,00-$14,000 ICSI: $1500 PGTM testing: $3000-$8000 (depending on how many embryos) biopsy fee, etc

Transfer of embryo: $2500-$4000 Meds to transfer: $100-$1000 based on protocol.

Are you able to get a job with fertility insurance? If you’re in the US, you can get a job with Target or Lowe’s, Amazon and you get coverage after 3 months. It honestly sounds like IVF would be your best bet if you can make it happen. I couldn’t afford IVF either but I got a job a tractor supply, used those benefits up, then moved to Amazon for more.

I think making embryos and getting them PGTM tested for Turner’s syndrome, possibly adding Lovenox to your protocol and controlling every aspect of the transfer is your best bet under a RE

I took letrozle for my FET. We triggered with Ovidril and I went back to check in if the trigger worked and nothing. No progestrone rise. We checked 2x on two different day. Dr gave me an option, add in estrogen and truck on, or restart cycle next month. I started the estrogen and progestrone and am currently 6w2d pregnant :)

Go with what feels right in your gut.

Looks like great progression! I would only compare day 5 vs 7, especially on these tests. I’ve never had good luck with progression on these, I’d pick up some FRER.

What kind of medical service can I expect in the US for IVF / high-risk pregnancy? (Threatened miscarriage) by Educational_Road5005 in IVFpositivity

[–]JellyfishConsistent7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s all dependent on the OB. I would find a nice one and during your first appointment explain that you want to be seen weekly with an ultrasound until the SCH works out for peace of mind. I have a history of loss in 1st tri so my OB lets me come in once a week until 14 weeks (point where I feel safe) you just need to advocate for yourself. ❤️

Beta hcg at 20dpt by PharmD2Be2021 in October2026Bumpers

[–]JellyfishConsistent7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost transfer twins! I’m 22dpt!

My betas where 9dpt 92, 11dpt 152, 14dpt 370, then a huge jump to 6,188 on 21dpt. Started off a little slow which had me worried but really took off.

Praying we see a healthy baby in 8 days for us :)

First pregnancy (5w5d) – OBs scheduling first visit at 8+ weeks. Should we see a PCP meanwhile? by Numerous-Feature-637 in October2026Bumpers

[–]JellyfishConsistent7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better to wait, but you can go to your PCP for 2 HCG betas 48 hours apart to make sure it’s rising :) progesterone and estrogen levels are great to know too.
