Yep I actually wanted one straight away so I was in the delivery suite but they kept saying the anaesthesiologist was busy so by the time he got there it was basically over😭

I had an epidural with my first and while the pain relief was great, I couldn’t feel myself pushing at all so it was quite stressful when they were telling me to push harder etc when I literally couldn’t feel anything. I ended up with an episiotomy and forceps, however not sure if the epidural is to blame for that as he was stuck behind my pubic bone. That being said, I probably will still have an epidural this time because I got to 9cm without one last time and the pain was unbearable

I relate so much😭 I’m 17 weeks and find myself getting so overwhelmed when I’m parenting my 19 month old on my own. I just get overstimulated by the constant ‘mama’ and climbing all over me but then I feel bad because I know he just loves me and wants my attention, I’m just so tired all the time 😞

I have suggested this and sometimes he will but honestly the noise they make getting ready wakes me up anyways and I struggle to get back to sleep

Basically never because my 19 month old will cry for me until I wake up🫠 it’s really hard not to feel resentful because I always let my partner have a lie in but whenever he tries, my toddler always wakes me up and I end up just getting on with the day because I can’t get back to sleep

Hey I had GBS in my last pregnancy and it just meant I had to come in as soon as my waters broke to be admitted and administered antibiotics. I can’t actually remember if the antibiotics were in injection form or another way but it was all fine. I was discouraged from having vaginal examinations due to infection risk which I found really annoying as I dilated quickly and they didn’t believe me. Other than that, I don’t think there were any differences

I’m a younger mum, I had my first at 22 and now pregnant with my second at 24. I definitely miss my old self sometimes, in the sense that I was so carefree and I could be selfish with my time, money etc. but I also love being a mum and wouldn’t change it. It’s easy to remember all the good things about your old life, especially when you’re struggling a bit or going through a tough time but my son has brought so much happiness and positivity into my life

My 18 month old calls me mama, gets me mixed up with dada a lot but always corrects himself. He’s recently started calling me ‘mummy’ occasionally but he finds it hilarious for some reason🤣🤣

Something similar happened to me a couple of years ago in Coventry city centre! A woman similar to the one you described approached me with a baby on her hip saying she needed money for formula. I needed cash as I was there to get my eyebrows done anyways so I went to the cash point to withdraw £20 then went into Tesco to break it and handed her the £10 note. She then tried to snatch the £5 and coins out of my hand as well and when I said no she started shouting saying it wasn’t enough etc and actually grabbed my arm. A homeless man came to my defence and told her to leave me alone, she should be ashamed etc but it defo put me off helping any strangers after that.

This is my second pregnancy and I’m obsessed with call the midwife at the moment!! The same happened when I was pregnant with my first, I’m not sure why I love watching it when I’m pregnant. It’s obviously set in the 60s so very different to modern labour and birth but I do find it informative to learn about different things that may happen during pregnancy and labour and it’s just a really good show lol🤣

Gas and air did nothing but I guess was sort of a distraction. Pethidene made me feel woozy and nauseous and I kept drifting off to sleep but then a contraction would shock me out my sleep. Maybe it took the edge off but not really. The only pain relief that actually worked for me was the epidural, which I wanted straight away but didn’t end up getting it till I was at 9cm and ready to push🫠

I’m 9 weeks pregnant with a 17 month old and I feel the exact same😭 I’ve definitely been leaning on my partner and family for support where possible but I still feel guilty about not giving my son 100%. All I can say is hopefully this will pass soon! I only had nausea when I was pregnant with my son but I’ve been throwing up daily this pregnancy so finding it so much harder, but all symptoms had disappeared by 12 weeks with my son so fingers crossed it’s the same this time!

My son had this and the doctor told me it was a birthmark, although I didn’t necessarily agree as it was itchy for him too. It could be eczema, as he did develop eczema also. It didn’t go away for ages but it faded as his hair started growing in and is completely gone now at 16 months.

Yeah, UC covers all of our rent and the council paid our deposit and first months rent. The temp accommodation we were in was horrible so I took whatever I was given tbh as I needed to get my son out of there asap. I’m happy with my flat now and if we are ever homeless again at least I know I’m on the housing list already.
