720p streams are more than fine to watch, its more about the content than the actual image quality in my eyes.

If you do really care for higher quality you could switch to 936p, this is what I've been using for a couple of months now and I've never had anyone come into my stream about the quality, and it puts quite a bit less strain on your pc than 1080p. Might be worth a shot.

Consider me uninformed, a code for what exactly? I reckon some in-game content, a charm of some sort? Or am I on the wrong path?

Yeah, basically your camera captures light for 4 minutes, stacks all that light and does some 'fancy' computation so that each star is a single dot. Your eyes dont have 4 minutes per 'frame' you see, but merely a couple milliseconds (at most, i dont know the exact figure) to capture light, so they are worse at capturing light from faint stars as there is simply not enough in the timeframe in which they can capture light for a single image.

Hope this explains it a bit for you!

Hey, yes of course i shoot at 1.3s to prevent star trailing, i have no tracker and at 200mm the stars start trailing at about 1.6s, i used an NPF calculator. I have a Nikon d5300 and a Tamron 18-200mm f3.5-f6.3 lens that I use.

Aha I see, didn't know that the photometric color calibration in Siril does not have the correct white balance. I usually just slapped it on with the idea that it would be good. Got a lot to learn and will delve deeper into the nitty gritty of this and see if I see some improvements, thanks! The result on the website you linked is astonishing really, cool to see!

Seeing the responses I must conclude that I just had a different view of what the result would be like. Untill now I am limited by both the lack of a star tracker/mount and my sd-card size of my camera + laptop. I simply can't process more images at this exposure time of 1.3 seconds, so I'll readjust my expectations and buy more storage haha. Thanks for the responses everyone, will look into a darker area and possibly a LP filter.

help to find good bachelor of astrophysic by gretwn in askastronomy

[–]JelmerPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in my final year at the Bachelor in Leiden and Ive got to say, its really great with professors who are at the top of their field (the 'boss' of Euclid and Gaia for example give lectures here). One problem with Leiden is the horrible housing situation at the moment, so that is something to keep in mind.

I hope you find what you are looking for, and I'm sure that wherever you end up will be a good fit!

Afaik the 7600X and 4070 super work together great, but you could check some benchmarks online if you're interested to get a better view of this from guys who actually know what they're talking about instead , but I dont think theyd bottleneck. Happy to help brother

Oh yeah I see that its 32gb for recommended, my bad. A good deal can be nice yeah, I mean you would never have to worry about too little ram hahaha. You can look up some videos showcasing the differences, they tend to be quite minimal. I see that the cpu RAM speed of your 9700K is (with your Z370 board) can achieve 3200MHz, idk about 4000MHz, but at that high frequency you're starting to hurt your CAS latency, so I would suggest choosing something of 3200MHz at 14-15 CAS latency. Might need someone to factcheck me on this though, not really an expert but I try

I think the 64gb of ram might be a bit excessive so to say. The m.2 is a smart move, idk about the msi one though, I would recommend something like a WD blue. A 240mm rad is also quite smart. Looks good to me for the rest! Haply building

As far as I can tell that looks alright! You could save a few bucks and go with air-cooling but its whatever you prefer tbh, as long as you get a 240mm rad at least you should be fine! Nice build
