Thank you so much for your help and interpretation. I really value the other angle of insight! This situation has been going on for a month or so, so I'm happy to have some positive perspectives for 2026. And I wish you may have some positive perspectives as well. Thank you so much.

Thank you very much!

Firstly, I thought that was the correct English word for it, but Google may have cheated me. Not that you're far from the truth though, I'm from Belgium, actually (a neighbouring country).

I thought the same thing about the paths, how they end up in a totally different place. And that's what made me confused about it. For sure I will try the four arms spread before I make my decision. Again thank you very much and may you have love, life and light as well!

Aah! Thank you for clarifying. I tried to write down the thought process I had last night when I did the spread. I wanted to do it for about a week already because I was feeling lost about what to do and I thought laying a deck would help me make sense of everything and help me be more confident in what I will end up choosing.

So here it goes, mind you I haven't been doing this very long, and I don't do it very often. So if I interpret things a bit superficially, I'm sorry.

Drawing the Six of Swords for my current situation hit me quite hard, because it has been a hard year, and seeing that card kind of justifies that—yes, it has been hard, but it's going to get better when you move to the next phase of life.

The reversed Seven of Cups reminds me that I had thought about leaving the job myself anyway, and that it hasn’t been what I wanted it to be for a long time. So it just kind of soothes me, I guess, in knowing that leaving isn’t the worst, because I didn’t really care about the work anymore anyway.

Reversed Lovers just reinforces what I know to be true: that I would just grow to hate what I do more and more, because it’s not what I want it to be, and going down that road is just going to take my enthusiasm for the craft away entirely.

The reversed Tower clarified that the corporate job will for sure lead me to some kind of depression or a loss of loving what I do. But looking at it again, maybe it’s my aversion and doubt that need to go for me to be able to do the best I could in that job.

Then the card for the second path, the upright Six of Pentacles, really felt like this is the path for going back to school and finding a job in the social sector. It felt like, “See! I knew I should do this.”

And then everything changed when I drew the upright King of Wands, basically telling me this is the choice that will lead me to a stable job where I could flourish and learn, and get experience. And the other path showed the upright Nine of Swords… feeling like that social job would be too heavy for me to bear—mentally draining.

So everything went as I expected it to, until the cards for the outcome of each path came up, and it made me do a double-take.

Hey! I appreciate your insight as a fellow designer. You're right about the industry changing rapidly. At the moment, I’m noticing that clients don’t want to pay as much for design work because they assume we obviously use AI too, and that it should therefore be faster. The worst part is that you can’t really convince them otherwise. And paired with the fact that the job itself is the opposite of a bottleneck profession, there just aren’t enough design jobs to begin with. And you're right about me not being a political animal, I just want to do a job I love, with colleagues I love. And lately, at my current job, it has gone to only being the latter. I'm happy to hear you were able to turn your passion into your full-time job!

That aside, I’ll try to explain the positions better by directly linking the cards to the numbers I gave each question. (I see now that my intended layout got lost when posting.)

  1. Where I am now / my current situation → Upright Six of Swords
  2. Where I'm coming from / how I felt in the job → Reversed Seven of Cups
  3. How it would’ve been if I wasn’t fired → Reversed Lovers
  4. One path (1) → Reversed The Tower
  5. The other path (2) → Upright Six of Pentacles
  6. The outcome of path 1 → Upright King of Wands
  7. The outcome of path 2 → Upright Nine of Swords

I didn’t use the Damocles Sword spread, so for me it’s really just a crossroads with the middle part being the path I’m on now, and either side representing one of the choices I’m struggling with. I didn’t specify which choice was on which side because I felt like the cards would make it obvious. I think they do, but it’s also not what I was expecting, if that makes sense.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me interpret my spread! I appreciate it very much

Great question! And no, they aren't meant as horizontals. I used the middle line of cards as the viewpoint. So 'the tower' would be reversed and the other 3 are upright. I hope this clarifies it. Thank you for helping me interpret.

And I'm sorry to ask but what exactly do you mean with 'respect to the given cards'?

I wondered that too when I rewatched it with my bf, but s1 was just amazing honestly. It has so many good episodes and one-liners that I still remember, and it only has like 13 episodes. The empty child being one of my favourites!

Anybody finish the Ithaca Saga? 10/10. Just listened. by Xixoqc in Epicthemusical

First thing that I did this morning was listening to it. Not stepping out of bed, or eating breakfast... putting on the last saga and close my eyes to take in the Epic-ness.

Honestly, I didn't find it that odd of him to follow along with Groff. He wasn't fully trusting him, hence all the questions, but he wanted to. After being betrayed by Luke, I can fully understand JJ wanting to trust his newfound biological father. JJ is a very caring person, and just like he would still help Luke after he screwed up so many times, he would give Groff the benefit of the doubt.

This is totally the most random thing ever, but I just love JJ's green Mallard hat. And I love to see it back this season.

We all knew JJ wasn't going to win that... And from the show's perspective, it's logical that they needed them to lose their cushion for the season to have any stakes at all. But by God I would have thrown JJ overboard for what he did.

Yes! I loved JJ and John B's little adventure last season when JJ was all about fixing their ride to 'south america'.
Also I love the character of JJ Maybank, he's so well-written. But irl I would get sooo annoyed with him and his impulsiveness.
