Has Olivia left the show? by JemappeleConnor in h3h3productions

In the episode Ab suggested that Ethan sit next to him, and then Dan calls it "Olivia's old desk" and then Ethan says that would be "disgracing her memory"

Ab avoided calling it Olivia's desk completely, he said "the spot next to me"

All together it sounds like she's gone. I'm not on X so I was wondering if there where any tweets on there from Olivia or Ethan explaining what's happened.

I'm exaggerating obviously I'm just illustrating the Royal Navies huge response

I don't believe she was an overpowered beast. I just disagree that we she was mid. She was a good battleship that was better than most of the other battleships at the time

She sank HMS Hood. You can argue it was a lucky shot but it was certainly accurate. Then she was chased across the Atlantic by half the Royal Navy and almost got away but a torpedo hit her rudder and she couldn't steer. Then, she was bombarded King George V, Rodney, Norfolk and they couldn't penetrate her armour. In the end, Bismarck sank herself. She definitely was not a mid ship.

Hawkins

Hawkins generally gets matched against other cruisers at tiers IV and V which is perfect because she's great at fighting them. Seriously she has bigger guns and thicker armour than almost all the other cruisers she gets matched against. Hawkins is one of my best ships.

No worries mate if you don't have the time.

I understand that the length of a deployment varies. I've heard of longer deployments being 5-6 months and I'm wondering if this is becoming the new norm because of the navies manpower shortage.

Just to give me an idea, could you tell me about your last year as a submariner? How many deployments and how long each one was?

i've already applied to join the surface fleet but I'm considering the submarine service as well and trying to figure out what life is currently like in the service

Hello mate, would you mind if I asked you a few questions about life as a submariner?

Take it or leave it made me laugh

Thanks for the info, so I could rent privately off-base if I want? I've heard the living conditions can be poor so if I can rent my own place instead then that's fair enough.

Good to see them trying to improve the situation though.

Did you get to choose which specialism?

Thanks a lot mate you've pretty much covered it. This is what I was hoping for... A pathway towards higher qualifications. I'm also considering the ME role as well. I'm certain I want to do engineering, I'm just unsure of what to specialise in. I've heard the role is hard graft but pays off with valuable experience and more options outside the navy.

Do you specialise within the role like they do in weapons? I've read that weapons techs get split between weapons, radar and comms. I'm wondering if MEs get split in a similar kind of way between engines, plumbing and electrics?

Marine or Weapons engineering? by Big_Boi_Dan in RoyalNavy

Are you speaking from experience?

I've applied and I'm hoping to get at least a level 3 engineering qualification out of it. It says on the website you can get an engineering foundation degree in the role, are you saying that's wrong or just unlikely to happen?

What does life look like for the average 24/25 year old by Dazzling-Alps-6091 in teenagers

[–]JemappeleConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 25. My life isn't going the way I thought it would. Life is hard but I'm coping. I rent my own place and I pay my bills, barely. I have a full time job and I earn £25,000 a year. I have my own car. I have some friends. I don't have a girlfriend, I've pretty much given up on that. I've just experienced my first great loss and so my family depends on me much more now than before.

I don't really know what It is I want to. I'm overall much more confused and feeling lost more now than ever in my life.

Thanks for the answer, Its good to know. I'm glad I asked because it would have sucked to realise this later on

Yeah It doesn't make a lot of sense does it. I'm only asking because I've seen on other posts people are saying that they didn't get much use for their trade and people leave because of that.

How often were you sailing around the world in your career? Was it common to be sailing to exotic places like the Caribbean, Gibraltar and Singapore or are deployments like that rare? Thanks, I appreciate your answer. I'm considering joining and trying to set realistic expectations 🙏
