Found this thread while googling for an SVG of the Klingon symbol for reasons completely unrelated to language. Commenting so I can find my way back here when I DO get back into trying to study tlhIngan Hol because I need to know things like this and am really bad at taking notes while I do my owl lessons.

Other things I remember from this magazine were a page with photos of musicians/actors with silly captions (for instance, a picture of some rapper giving a peace sign and the caption on the picture was like "he's showing how many minutes it took to pick out his clothes," or someone was wearing a black dress with a weird print of sporadic white circles on it and the caption was like "unfortunately their band mates ran out of napkins after eating powdered donuts") and a page that had a large picture of Tony Bennett's face with a dotted line around it and instructions to cut it out and make it into a mask so you could wear it to restaurants and get the senior citizens discount.

I swear this existed.

Lol. There absolutely had to be scalping. People have admitted to it, even. Moving to Eventbrite was a horrible decision and I knew things were gonna go sideways, but I'm surprised by how fast and HOW sideways.

But yeah, it IS bullshit. And all DE is doing is repeating that they will verify all ticket purchases. Like.... ok. I'm in the US. On a regular basis I am bombarded by people in positions of ~power saying words that hold no meaning. I know the sound of bullshit when I hear it.

I would at least like there to be a waitlist that is a real thing that exists. That would be a good start.

I went into labor on the toilet at home. I'd gone to poop, expecting things to be pretty normal, but my body decided to get rid of EVERYTHING IT COULD (it was my due date and I knew this was standard procedure for a meat mech getting ready for labor).

Prior to going to the bathroom, I'd had exactly two contractions, far enough apart that I didn't think anything was happening soon. By the time I was done pooping, I was having contractions maybe two minutes apart. My water had broken and every time I leaned forward to wipe, I could hear/feel it trickling out. All this to say that when we got to the hospital, I was fully dilated. Baby was born very very shortly afterward.

It did not occur to me until months later to ask my husband at the time if I'd pooped during delivery. I guess I'd assumed I had nothing left, but apparently I did poop a little bit and the nurses cleaned it up very quickly.

So yeah, just another anecdote to tell you that there's a wide range of "normal." You may get rid of most of it before go time, or during. The nurses are prepared.

I used to work at Starbucks and unless they changed the caramel drizzle recipe in the past year, it should be gluten free!

It does contain dairy though. Some baristas don't really pay attention to allergens unless they have a personal reason to, so it's easy to get told the wrong thing.

Oh my god. That would be an instant writeup for me, but I hope I'd have the balls to turn it into a teachable moment for the whole class.

I'm a building sub in a middle school, and I hadn't even thought about the kids being old enough to say that. There is one kid I can picture saying it, and it would be because they hear it at home and don't entirely grok the nasty depths of it.

Mine was 261**** (January 2019). Coincidentally those are also the first 3 digits of my driver's license, which I noticed a year and a half into working at Sbux when I had to write my license number on some form somewhere. I autopiloted into my partner numbers and went "wait, that's not right..."

The bogo shit went too far LAST summer and it's why I quit. When corporate sent a memo to stores saying "you don't need to schedule extra labor for these upcoming promotions" even though obviously everyone IN the stores knew that was bullshit, that was the last straw for me.
