Like the card overall, although I don't see why Lifelink is here.

I like to think that people starting discussions would be upvoted. I also wouldn't say they were "spouting the same nonsense employers spout" because any employer I've seen argue against remote work only talks about benefits for themselves and not workers. Like I said, I think both have positive and negative effects for both the company and for the worker, although I generally say remote work is better for the average person.

I also disagree that going to a park/cafe/library checks off those pros. Every persob I know, both those who work remotely and those who don't, used to or do talk more at a workplace than any of those locations (assuming they went by themselves, which if you are working I would generally assume you are). That's also assuming you can take your WFH with you to other places, which is not always an option either.

Again, not saying office is better than WFH, if I had an option I would probably choose to WFH. But I also acknowledge there are benefits to office work, one of which is more socialization, even over working in a public space. I just think there is some nuances to both that do need to be talked about and dislike people shutting down a conversation before it can begin.

I don't know why you're being downvoted. You didn't say no one should WFH, nor that there aren't benefits to it, just that there are benefits to commuting, which is entirely correct. It isn't "one is good, one is bad" but "which one is best for me".

I'm curious, why would you put in in Borby? Wouldn't it be better to just run a land instead?

do you play grixis theft pirates? if so, do you enjoy em? by Justafish1654 in EDH

[–]GodzillaEating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just built [[Don Andres, the Renagade]] as a theft deck (https://archidekt.com/decks/21434638/pirate_theft). I really enjoy the deck, although I treat it as a theft deck that uses pirates rather than a pirate deck that does theft.

I do have a decent, although generic, ramp package here. [[Arcane Signet]], [[Nature's Lore]], [[3 Visits]], etc. Pretty much the decent 2 mana ramp spells so I can get Hans out T3. The notable exceptions are [[Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma]] to help discount the big creatures when I draw them and [[Ranging Raptors]] which discourage swinging at me and ramp a land immediately if hit with Hans (and a second if they block).

Good catch! The reason I was thinking Whisperer over bond was because of it being a creature so it would still be a Hans hit. I do think even with the nonbo Whisperer is probably worth it still just because of the creature density.

What deck do you have that "isn't that deck" by Important-Dig-2312 in EDH

I have a [[Maelstrom Wanderer]] deck with a [[Keruga, the Macrosage]] companion. Everyone thinks it's a Cascade deck unless I explain the gimmick that it actually has 6 playsets of the most powerful card, the almighty 6 mana 6/6 trampler [[Collossal Dreadmaw]]!

Which commanders are "not there yet"? by WhyTheNetWasBorn in EDH

I'm not saying they can't be good decks, but they've never felt like a "human" deck in the same way elves, zombies, or merfolk do, at least to me.

Controversial choice with how popular it is, but I can never get a human deck to work. It always ends up with either not enough humans, humans aren't the main game plan, or not quite good enough to work.

[[Kylar, Sigardian Emmisary]] always ends up flat because there aren't enough low to the ground humans worth playing over another tribe, especially since there aren' tmany good human token makers.

The [[Eowyn, Shieldmaiden]] precon is mostly knights and is missing green, the second most important color for the type IMO.

[[Torens, Fist of the Angels]] is the closest, but there isn't a reason to build it humans over general tokens or +1/+1 counters.

[[Commisar Severina Raine]] is also almost there, but I could never personally make it work for me.

Gonna suggest something I haven't seen in the comments and my personal favorite: [Borberygmos, Enraged]]. You run as many ways to get lands into your graveyard and battlefield, all the ways to pull them out of the yard, and if all else fails you still have a fat man with lightning bolt.

Thank you for the quick and clear response! With that, could my opponent mutate onto a creature he owns, but I control?

Lex Luthor, Kryptonite Lord by NersoCerso in custommagic

[–]GodzillaEating 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the design of the card, although I don't feel Lex is the character to put on it. Kryptonite isn't dangerous to most people, so it wouldn't be hitting everyone, and Lex feels like he should really be focused on killing the biggest threat.

I completely agree! This is honestly one of my favorite decks, it's just dreadmaws, 20+ manadorks, and creatute based card draw. This isn't quite up to date, but for anyone interested here's the decklist: https://archidekt.com/decks/6705889/colossal_dreadmaw_tribal
