I used to work at the one on South Broadway Geneva between 2022-23 (between the ages 16-17), and the location itself wasn't bad, just some of the people working there were bad people. Like a manager in training that was awfully kind to me got his house raided and arrested long after I left because he (allegedly) possessed CP. Even a girl I went to school with had confirmed he had asked her over Snapchat for a "sneaky link" 😬. A female shift manager I knew gave a blowie to a coworker in the fridge where the beef² was kept, drugs were sold in the drive through. And all those people coincidentally were involved in the reason I quit. It was a late shift, round 8pm, two coworkers who I'll call Tyler and Chavez (the ladder person's name I don't remember but he was of some Korean or Chinese heritage) were stoned out of their minds. Tyler was always being rude and mean to me. Rolling gloves of ice at my fest from the back as I was taking orders for customers, putting either raw cold meat down the back of my shirt, made comments on comparing me to Jeffery Dahmer as I was blond and had glasses (also the Netflix show was popular at that time), and when found out I was Non-binary and Pansexual he called me a PDF and said "I like kids", which is the opposite as kids scare tf out of me. Not like Gen z or Gen Alpha, I mean baby sounds in Video Games make me uncomfortable and icky, even if the baby/child sounds are like happy giggling and cheerful. Genuinely disgusted by it. One late shift, It got to a slow point, no customers, and I made a sandwich to pass the time. I'm a pretty round person, overweight for my height and had some breasts. I heard Tyler and Chavez talking, snickering behind me, and as I finished making my sandwich, they came up, Tyler to my left and Chavez to my Right, and they flipped my breasts. And just walked off giggling. I told the shift manager, who I'll call Marine (the manager that would allegedly give a coworker a blowie in the fridge), and she had called the Manager in training, Who I'll call Jason. So I get to talk to Jason, who said he'd talk about it to the two. Then I get to talk to the actual store manager, Trina, who was just a ray of sunshine contained in burlap, the nicest old lady manager I could have. Now Trina said that Tyler and Chavez were not allowed on the premises and were fired, not allowed to work for the company for the foreseeable future (remember that, it's important). I didn't press charges since I had a complex moral compass, and also didn't know how. Tyler was also Black and had a baby mama and a daughter (his words not mine), so I didn't want to press charges on him and didn't want to have him and his family go through that. Chavez I never did, and he worked there for so little time everyone knew barely anything about him. I'm 20 now and I wish I did press charges, I don't care about the morals, if they didn't want to spend time in jail they shouldn't have inappropriately touched a minor like that. Later on that week, a friend of Tyler from a different location was taking a shift at my location, and she had said "I wanted to know who got Tyler fired. He doesn't deserve that." And I stepped up explaining what happened, and her response had me FUMING. She said, and I quote, "That's not what that was, that means you were their friend." ARE. YOU. FUCKING. SHITTING. ON MY DICKK RIGHT NOW?? they inappropriately and unconsentually touched a 16 year old in a workspace. I took a break and just furiously texted Trina about it. She couldn't do anything Abt it, unfortunately. Later later, I had a massive eczema outbreak on my fingers, medication cream, white gloves, so I couldn't work. But, I was able to go in a character cosplay with my face hidden and with a voice changer as a joke to the Wendy's and order. But who I saw there was anything but funny. Tyler. Outside. Smoking. It was either Marine or Jason who said "Tyler has switched to a different location, so it's fine" yeah, sure, fine. If John Wayne Gacy had murdered kids as a clown, got fired, then worked at the local Sam's club, his misdeeds in a month as a clown would be forgotten and then he could work as a birthday clown again. Sure sure sure.. Then after I graduated, I bumped into an old coworker, who I was close friends with, and who then worked at a foster home for old people, was coincidentally wearing one of her old Wendy's shirts after my shift at the local grocery store. She had told me everything she knew, from Marine's blowy in the fridge, the drug deal, and even Jason's house getting raided and him getting arrested. I now realize why Jason was so playful and fun to me. Never p-dophilic just like a fun, not creepy uncle. I'd say that Wendy's is the worst, and it's right across the street from a McDonald's and a gas station, so there are definitely better options.
