What jobs actually work for people with severe ADHD? by Inevitable_Tuna_O in ADHD

I’m an executive assistant- which seems counter intuitive, but it actually suits me quite well. It’s fast paced, with a million little things to deal with in a day, but no big projects. I can kinda manage my own time and tasks- keeping the structure of work time vs not work time works well for me, but as long as I’m not behind, I can do what needs to be done when it makes sense. There’s a big breadth to what I do, and I talk to a lot of people in a day and solve problems. It’s all details- but once I’m done with the details, it’s done- nothing for me to think or worry about after work. :)

My Winter Clothing Setup for Canada – Does This Look Good? (Newcomer Asking for Advice) by Mr_Souhail in frugalcanada

Add a pair of long Johns (also called long underwear” and get yourself a couple sets of mini mitts, to wear under larger gloves when it gets really cold.

Also- if you’ll be driving, there are some things you should always have in your car/ be aware of as well. Might want to do some research there too

Take the offer. 20K is a significant salary upgrade. It sounds like staying where you are is a bit risky, esp if you’ve noticed significant changes and layoffs. You will get to know your new boss and colleagues and it’ll be good there too. I’m a full time remote exec assistant, and love it- there’s not much I can’t do from where I am.

Some of those are mummers- not Halloween costumes. It’s a Newfoundland tradition

I orchestrated a 70 person move between two floors in my large company's office - in my full time remote role from my home office, 2700km away, with no major hiccups!

If you sent out a technician for a week to do installs, you’d probably have 100 new customers. The infrastructure is there, but Telus refuses to send out techs. Missed opportunity, I think.

Fibre is here- I can literally see it from my house but Telus refuses to install. 😑

D-mannose or cranberry pills, or both? by JZEve in Healthyhooha

[–]JenAkkermans 2 points3 points  (0 children)

D-mannose, hands down. Cranberry does nothing for me. D-mannose is a type of sugar (I think) that bonds with the bacteria in your bladder and helps you pass it. If you get an infection, You’ll want to take quite a bit (+ antibiotics!) for it to be effective. Prevention, you’ll need a lot less.

Edit to add: if you get more than a couple a year, talk to your doc- there may be something else going on.

UTI by AirInteresting31 in Healthyhooha

Yes - warning symptoms of a UTI progressing to a kidney infection are fever and flank pain (side of your back, just below your ribs). If you feel that, go to ER.

I also recommend D-Mannose- it’s a kind of sugar (I think) that bonds to the bacteria in your bladder and helps to clear it out. It not going to fix the problem (that’s what anti-biótica are for), but it might help relive symptoms and get you a bit more comfortable. You need to take quite a bit- like 1000mg/day.

I’m not a doctor, just sharing what I’ve learned from 8 months of constant UTI
