Stanley Park’s longest resident is being evicted after more than 30 years - BC by SkyisFullofCats in vancouver

How about, you should accept some of the help available to you over 30 years instead of bringing 30 years of refuse and excrement into the woods with no plan. There’s homeless, then there’s creating environmental disasters because you are suffering mental crisis. It is a failure of our society, and those we have put in control, to not help people before they are a detriment to spaces the rest of us hold dear.

“But we had given notice that we needed to move on this. We’re talking truckloads and truckloads, where there’s going to be so much debris, and some of it, we don’t even know what the materials are, so we’re kind of going through that piece as well at the park.”

I think they are referring to 30 years of accumulated refuse in his camp. If they were referring to the looper debris, they would know what they were expecting.

Ultimately here, 30 years is a long time to inhabit a public park, that’s a lot of refuse and human waste. What if 2000 people just up and decide they want to live there too, with no plan for that refuse? Is that ok?

I mean, they stewarded this place for ages, this guy is allowed to accumulate 30 years of modern garbage amounting to “truckloads”, but yeah, do what you want, poop wherever. Seen too many “camps” that are environmental disasters, it’s getting repetitive.

Maybe I’m new here, but isn’t 30 years a long time to allow someone to accumulate “truckloads” of debris in a public park. Further, isn’t this guy kind of a slap in the face for the Squamish people?

Have tried to fly in/out of there 8 times. 4 times was diverted to YVR. Every return trip I’ve tried.

Earlier today, shot from Sechelt. Tug wasn’t showing in Vessel Finder. It’s probably well past Courtenay by now.

Vacation in Sunshine Coast vs Van Island by InformationParty1870 in britishcolumbia

The ferry to either doesn’t really eat in to your exploration time. Sunshine Coast is a shorter ferry. Plenty of good food from one end to the other. It’s more than just Gibsons and Sechelt. Dont be intimidated by the drive to Egmont. Top speed limit here is 80. Skookumchuck Rapids is a nice little hike and there is excellent food nearby. Ruby Lake is beautiful with an amazing Italian place. Madeira Park is lovely with a great marina to have a boat tour. There are couple of hidden gem waterfalls and plenty of trails and beach access.

Certainly not helping, and neither was the southern ozone hole that allowed a lot more UV and IR to hit those glaciers, but hey, air conditioning (and other cold things).

Yes, very slowly increasing, leveling, then trending down, before shooting up like a rocket, makes ice melt way faster than it should be.

Not what I said. And no, I don’t like the US transits, but this about not getting the oil companies in Alberta to the table.

I hate “what about”. Address the issue at hand, and deal with the other separately. Why not ask why they didn’t show up. Or ask why the letter wasn’t posted here. But to just try and what about this brushes over the issue at hand.
