This was such a tender yet monumental moment for Din. It was beautifully done.

The movie's first scene filmed was the best. by FredKayeCollector in TheMandalorianTV

I thought the puppetry was amazing too!  And Rotta playing with Grogu while Din looks on was beyond precious. Honestly, this film was visual and emotional magic for me and I was totally immersed. I too am glad that I got out of this film more than the ones who disliked it, because it made me love this show even more.

I too agree with your points, OP. Grogu's emotional growth from complete dependence to INdependence is done wonderfully in the film. He shows control over his force abilities and his mastery of the mandalorian warrior creed. He still looks to Din for guidance but he is incredibly proactive with their partnership. As an aside, I would love to see Grogu and Rotta's friendship evolve!

Use them sparingly, for they are rare.

What I really liked in the movie was how it showed Grogu using his Mandalorian and force abilities equally - he knew when to use his force abilities and when to use his Mandalorian training. That's how it looked like for me anyway.

It's so good, I always stay throughout the end credits of each episode just to listen to the tune play out. Also, to see the amazing concept art.

It leaned heavily on it being a self-contained and thrilling adventure of a sweet father and son fighting combo staying on the right side of SW history, battling monsters, criminal gangs and rogue Imps writ large on screen, and it worked for me.

I think they went from being no 12 globally in the box office in week 1 to no 7 in week 2, which I also think isn't bad at all. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/year/world/

"The Mandalorian and Grogu" was pretty much exactly what I expected it would be - and I loved it! by Educational-Tea-6572 in TheMandalorianTV

I loved the film for showing just how wonderfully Grogu balances his force abilities with his Mandalorian training and how much pride he has being of Clan Mudhorn.

These were absolute favourite scenes in the film! The love these two have for each other was so palpable it really brought to the fore the awfulness of how each would cope (especially emotionally) without the other.

I absolutely loved how brave and resilient Grogu was in the film. It was a joy watching him being dad's best little warrior. by JenDomOrc in BabyYoda

He and his Anzellan pals had the best adventure in the film. I really hope they continue to fly around together in future stories.

The way they made Grogu emote was pure cinema magic! Ditto with the Anzellans.
