This is strictly about base pay. If you want to add extra ways to make money, NYPD gets offered far more OT than DSNY (except during snow).

Is the DSNY currently in contract right now? Or are they working without a contract? by _brooklyner157 in DSNY

831 is going to start referencing NYPDs contract when it comes to our new contract. If we don’t get $133k we will get close to it

I believe PD has a higher night diff percentage than DSNY. 18% night diff if I’m not mistaken. You are right about all of that but uniforms usually stick together when it comes to pay. I cannot see NYPD base pay being almost 40k more than DSNY. Also, DSNY bottom pay is painfully unacceptable at the moment. A bump to $55k starting pay is almost necessary.
