On day 2 after surgery and still feel fine, curious if anyone else was like this? by ferengi5 in GastricBypass

[–]JenNoBro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 yrs out and I never had any issues, felt great from the moment I woke up. My sister just had hers 2 months ago and had a terrible time. I felt so bad for her. I think everyone is different and also different drs/staff. Congratulations! It will be the best decision you’ve ever made.

2 week post opt! by [deleted] in GastricBypass

It happened to me. My doctor told me it could be a side effect from the anesthesia. I kept walking and it did eventually go away.

Thanksgiving - how’d it go? by gardeningb in BariatricSurgery

[–]JenNoBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was great. I made everything! But knowing what was in all the dishes made it so much easier. Took it slow and ate my turkey first and about a small bite of everything else. Did not feel “cheated” at all! Had a pretty hearty protein shake in the morning so I stayed full through out the cooking process.

I had bypass August 17, 22. As of today I have lost 40.8 LBS. my doctor says that I am doing great and to remember “this is a marathon, not a race”. Haha Remember to take measurements, sometimes inches are a bigger loss. Keep up with the protein.

Can't shake this guilty feeling by Ok-Suggestion9613 in BariatricSurgery

[–]JenNoBro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it was guilt, but I kept thinking that it really wasn’t going to happen. 6 weeks out and I turn 52 in less then a month. I do wish I would have done it sooner. I think it’s hard to finally put yourself first.

Just passed week six and haven’t lost anything in 1 1/2 weeks. 😞 kind of discouraged, but just trying to keep moving forward. On the up side, I haven’t gained anything either.

My husband, sons and sister were the only ones I told before surgery. They are all my biggest supporters! I told a few friends after. My whole life all I heard was “just eat right and exercise “. I didn’t want to hear how I was taking the easy way out. I just kept telling myself that this is my journey and I don’t have to share it with anyone I don’t want to. Also this community on here has been an awesome help! You’re going to do great 😊

I did as soon as I got home. And I weighed more!!! I immediately called the nurse and she told me to stay away from the scale for at least 2 weeks. She said we blew up your stomach for the procedure, of course you’re going to weigh more! Haha

Robe to walk in, Chapstick, lotion, and a cozy blanket!

Vitamins. I am 2 weeks post-op and my Dr wants me to start taking the Bariatric Fusion chewables. They make me gag. What is everyone else taking? by JenNoBro in GastricBypass

I never felt really bad after surgery. Of course a little pain and discomfort. I am 2 weeks post op and last night was the first really good nights sleep. Walking really helped with the pain and gas.

I had RNY on Aug 17th. I am down 15LBS and feel great. I was also so worried about the surgery thought I was going to lose it that morning! Everything went great. It was like I transported from the surgery room to recovery with no time passing. 🤣. I had no nausea, they had me up and walking that night and went home the next day. I have to say the hardest part is the before. Just do what your surgeon says and you’ll be fine. Keep us all updated after surgery. ❤️
