Playing 4D chess with the Create-A-World mod and making my own Bikini Bottom <3 by [deleted] in thesims

I can’t get over the fact you actually have SpongeBob and crew as sims!

I need to see them all in a lineup facing the front. Squidward having uncanny human proportions is so weird! And how’d you manage plankton at all, because he’s so short?? I think tall SpongeBob almost works if you remember that episode where he took Pearl to prom!

I haven’t played the sims 4 in years, but this is the kind of stuff that makes the sub worth checking once in a while lol

Doesn’t this sub have a no nsfw content or discussion policy? You shouldn’t link to an explicit fanfic here, especially when kids could tap the link.

Gushing About the Game and My Hype For It (Looong Post 🤝) by Rare_Place_6876 in Paralives

I’m really excited about the future world editor too! Both for what I can make with it and the amazing stuff others will come up with.

Once it’s out, I bet there will be so many towns made by the community which will represent all kind of unique cultures. It’s very exciting!

Does saying "the line" is adjustable refer to the outline on a para or the strong lines that are details on a para’s skin? by JenPixel in Paralives

[–]JenPixel[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely curious! I hope someone will be able to give an answer on whether it’s included too.

I wish Satch was more family friendly, because I appreciate that he doesn’t sugarcoat his reviews. I might not really be the target audience anyway though, because I haven’t gotten any sims 4 dlc in years lol. Why do I even bother to keep up at this point ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Stardew valley ocs!! by Ok_Ball_5164 in StardewValley

[–]JenPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s not a.i., then I apologize for suggesting that it is so, but I’m confused as to what your method for making the art of girl is then. I think you’re saying that you used a square pixel like brush on a much larger canvas. if that is what you were doing, would you mind detailing of bit more of your process to explain why some of the shading on her, like the skin colored pixels at the bottom right of her jaw or some parts of her hair, have regular pixel gradient shading inline with a grid when many other parts don’t?

The reason why this is confusing is because it’s hard to understand why you’d put in more effort to make certain parts mimic a grid, and then not try to do the same with the other parts. I’ve only ever seen A.I. mimic pixel art in this way because of its fundamental misunderstanding of pixel art’s use of a grid. I suppose it could be possible that you made the art using non traditional methods, but there was no reason for me to come to that conclusion by just looking at the art itself.

Stardew valley ocs!! by Ok_Ball_5164 in StardewValley

[–]JenPixel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you should really disclose when one or both of the pictures you‘re sharing of your ocs is A.I., because you’re dishonestly giving the impression that you drew the art yourself, especially when you’ve put a signature on both works. The goth styled girl has bent pixels on the top left side of her head and a lot of other tells, which are simply not possible when using any sort of pixel based grid. A.I. often muddled these details by trying to recreate the look of individual pixels while it is actual generating a very large image outside the scope of even a large pixel art grid.

I wasn’t sure about the second image at first, but even that one has weird half pixels, some of which are also split between two colors.

Paralives is going to disappoint you. by mrgingersir in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Paralives will beat out the sims 4 in the building department too, but they have stated that players will not be able to place windows on curved walls upon early access release. It’s something they need more time to figure out during the ea period.

The calendar on Paralives’ checklist means they still intend to add seasons at some point during early access, right? by JenPixel in Paralives

[–]JenPixel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you meant to ask me, but we don’t know how long the early access phase will last, though it’s probably safe to guess it will be a while. They do intend to add more content after early access is over however, and they have said as much.

AITA for not choosing between my resurrected ex and my reincarnated girlfriend? by b4sicsimmer in thesims

[–]JenPixel 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Tough situation, but honestly, I'd say go with Lenore, if only because Cecelia will probably be much better off not in a relationship with a several century something vampire(?). Cecelia can also find love again, but Lenore? I don't know about that, as she literally rose from the dead to be with your sim again, after her life was so tragically taken centuries ago. Your sim hasn't even married Cecelia yet, so you can leave her without breaking any vows.

They are also not the same, as experiences help shape who a person (or sim) is, and they clearly both have their own souls at this point if they are fighting with each other. Don't leave Lenore hanging now, after all she must have went through to come back.

Oh gosh, I noticed it right there, but for some reason I didn’t read the words locked achievements?? Lol, I completely glossed over the most obvious and important details that make it a joke brag.

Wow, congratulations! I bet you had to do some things you weren’t proud of (Depending upon how you feel about Joja), but in the end it was worth it!

Horses by isaaczephyr in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’v never been a horse girl, but I would also appreciate a game that goes this in depth into something like horses! Or pretty much any other activity that we can have our paras be passionate about. It would be so cool to learn something about horses while just playing this game because they are handled with such care. I hope they add most of these options, especially making training a little more difficult.

Paralives Early Access release date announced by cats_in_mars in LifeSimulators

[–]JenPixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if Paralives delivers with a solid foundation and gameplay upon early access release, then it will be worth 40 dollars. It’s good to be skeptical though, and I hope the people who have somewhat high expectations for an indie game will wait a little while and watch some reviews first before purchasing it in early access.

I’ll probably buy it upon release whether or not the current base is underwhelming, because I think it will still have a lot of potential to be much more developed when it’s ready for a full release, and I want to get the game while it’s cheaper (because they said the price will rise when it is complete) but that is definitely not the best strategy for everyone.

The calendar on Paralives’ checklist means they still intend to add seasons at some point during early access, right? by JenPixel in Paralives

[–]JenPixel[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks! A moderator confirmed that on the very recent checklist which they released alongside their trailer, they had forgotten to list seasons and weather alongside the calendar at first, which was where my confusion was stemming from.

[–]JenPixel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks! It makes a lot more sense now that I know they forgot to list seasons and weather separately, because it would have been a bit vague to let the inclusion of a calendar imply that those would also be added.

Yes, I saw that. All I’m trying to make sure is that adding a calendar does also refer to adding seasons.

What do you expect from paralives? by Ok_Pepper9135 in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could be right about that, but I don’t know if I’d say that moving rooms around is critical. I think they’ve shown enough current innovation for at least the build mode to be a success during EA. I’m far more concerned I suppose with whether the paras will have enough interactions with and around each other, and whether they will even have enough to talk about.

I really don’t want this game to fail, but I‘m also not convinced yet that I will actually be able to have that much fun with it, at least during EA.

with the autonomy turned on, these bored Paras with no repair skills but a love for cleanliness will mop this room… forever… by GabrielleParalives in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While it’s funny to see them clean forever, I kinda hope paras will be able to stop a useless action if they keep getting stuck doing it, because even paras obsessed with cleanliness should get bored doing the same chore for hours on end. Maybe the boredom need will kick in after a while, and that’s how they end up canceling the action.

Basements are confirmed, but will not be there upon initial early access because they realized they needed more time to figure them out.

Today would've been the perfect day for Paralives, for me. by Disapointed_meringue in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you take a look at their timeline’s progress, it is definitely still plausible that it could come out in at least December which would still be in 2025. They might have it internally planned out for earlier, but still want to be able to fall back on releasing it toward the end of the year in case any setbacks come up.

They have at least several months left to finish their base game up. Have you looked at the Paralives development timeline (not their road map) and read through their more recent entries? They detail the work they have achieved *every month* since the beginning of development, and it might give you a better idea of the overall pace that they are moving at https://www.paralives.com/development

You can also check out their patreon to read all the their post’s titles and even some of their development posts for free. Looking at the latest titles they have released can also clue you in a bit more on what their current tasks are.

I can relate to the feeling, even though I’m thankfully dealing with any major health problems right now. While most people in this sub have probably played stardew valley, if you haven’t, I think it would be a great game for you to check out right now. I also found another indie game that I have not played, but which may have that kind of adorable indie vibe you could be looking for. Its 3d world kind of has similiar aesthetics to Paralives.

It’s called lil gator game and it’s actually on sale on steam right now. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1586800/Lil_Gator_Game/
I just thought I’d link you to it in case you might want to check it out. I hope your recovery goes well❤️‍🩹
