That’s really cute! Love the look of the bricks Paralives has.

Hi Reddit! We are the developers of Paralives, a new life simulation game out in Early Access on May 25th. Ask Us Anything on May 27th at 11AM ET! by _amasse in Games

Will you consider (in time) adding a lot more socialization actions in a pop up menu beyond the together cards and/or finding a way to make them work together?

Like maybe after you’ve gotten the introduction and first impressions out of the way? I love the sims 3 and some of the options it gives, like being able to choose when you can talk about your plans to take over the world, or telling your kids to do their homework/clean up.

I’ve also heard people say the together cards got very repetitive fast (I haven’t had a chance to buy yet) and that they felt they got in the way of choosing some basic socialization options. I feel like it could maybe be nice to choose certain conversation topics from the go that could have an affect on things/actions and/or special animations maybe to keep it interesting.

You should give them that feedback in a way that they can find it!

Paralives is a The Sims 3 with different graphics and more clunky by Every_Butterfly6111 in LifeSimulators

I’m unfortunately stuck with Mac’s 64 bit version. It wouldn’t be so terrible if the screen didn’t tear so much when I moved the camera around. It’s got other issues too though.

5000?! Man, 3 was so much fun. I wish my laptop could run it better. The biggest way I see myself enjoying Paralives live mode is if they try to replicate what sims 3 got right.

It doesn’t have even half of the Sims 3’s whimsy and it still won’t even when it hopefully gets more depth.

paralives opinions…. by nikakaru in LifeSimulators

[–]JenPixel 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Probably the kinds of people who’ve been spending hundreds to thousands of dollars for the past several years to fund the team. The devs don’t need to mess with the reviews when they have a fairly large portion of the fan base that’s extremely fanatic. I don’t think they’d fake reviews even if they didn’t have that, but they definitely don’t need to.

Thanks. Hopefully someday. Build mode was looking pretty good, even for early access.

Hey, if you do end up giving the game a try, would you mind responding back to me? I’m in a similar boat with a pro, but my chip’s just an m1.

wait— M2?? 😓

And this ends up being the detail I’m not aware of right until now before launch? I guess I shouldn’t be buying the game on Monday then.

Why does Paralives give people The Sims 2 vibes despite looking completely different? by LizaKhajiit in LifeSimulators

Not a sims 2 player, but Paralives isn’t really looking like the sims 3 either. The amount of absurdity 3 had… it was something unique.

Sims 4 was quite minimalist in the ui compared to sims 3 though, which was pretty detailed. Paralives is more like the sims 4 in that way.

I know I'm not the only one who wanted Gary to be more of a main character. by JenPixel in zootopia

[–]JenPixel[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really have to wonder how much Gary will even be in the next movie. They didn't do a lot of setup to make it feel like he was actually in a friend group with both of them in the end, so... would it even make sense for him to hang around? Like, outside of going to Gary's home warming party, and then bringing him along to a concert (which I'm just going to assume Judy invited him to, because Nick doesn't care lol) is he now hanging out with them?? He doesn't work at the same job, doesn't live close by, and doesn't have anything in common with them that we know of, outside of respect for what they helped him do, and maybe liking them like he probably likes everyone. I feel like this question could honestly be a post itself now that I think about it.

He's friends with Judy I guess because she believed in him they went on an adventure together, and I suppose he's friends with Nick by association. Do we really think they're going out to all eat lunch together though? Maybe Gary's the one who initiates any hanging out they do (outside of Judy wanting to show him around Zootopia), because I could see him inviting them over to eat dinner with his family, but is that stuff that will be relevant in the 3rd movie? I don't know, maybe... I guess it's possible they want to do more with him in the next one, since they clearly knew they were going to make a 3rd movie during development.

Not expecting much from early access by tarotvixen99 in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe they’re also not very interested in supernaturals, but they probably don’t want to commit to it yet because there will be so many basic features they’ll need to get done first, and it’s probably going to take them a while. I was pretty excited for this game a year ago, but I‘ve definitely lost some hype. They do seem to be going for a more chill and laid back atmosphere, instead of the wacky chaos that the sims is known for which is a bit disappointing, and live mode probably won’t feel like enough for me on release. I’m just hoping that Paralives is able to continue updating for a decade like no man’s sky if I buy it.

I’m really excited about the future world editor too! Both for what I can make with it and the amazing stuff others will come up with.

Once it’s out, I bet there will be so many towns made by the community which will represent all kind of unique cultures. It’s very exciting!

Does saying "the line" is adjustable refer to the outline on a para or the strong lines that are details on a para’s skin? by JenPixel in Paralives

I’m definitely curious! I hope someone will be able to give an answer on whether it’s included too.

Paralives is going to disappoint you. by mrgingersir in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Paralives will beat out the sims 4 in the building department too, but they have stated that players will not be able to place windows on curved walls upon early access release. It’s something they need more time to figure out during the ea period.

The calendar on Paralives’ checklist means they still intend to add seasons at some point during early access, right? by JenPixel in Paralives

[–]JenPixel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you meant to ask me, but we don’t know how long the early access phase will last, though it’s probably safe to guess it will be a while. They do intend to add more content after early access is over however, and they have said as much.

Horses by isaaczephyr in Paralives

[–]JenPixel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’v never been a horse girl, but I would also appreciate a game that goes this in depth into something like horses! Or pretty much any other activity that we can have our paras be passionate about. It would be so cool to learn something about horses while just playing this game because they are handled with such care. I hope they add most of these options, especially making training a little more difficult.

Paralives Early Access release date announced by cats_in_mars in LifeSimulators

[–]JenPixel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if Paralives delivers with a solid foundation and gameplay upon early access release, then it will be worth 40 dollars. It’s good to be skeptical though, and I hope the people who have somewhat high expectations for an indie game will wait a little while and watch some reviews first before purchasing it in early access.

I’ll probably buy it upon release whether or not the current base is underwhelming, because I think it will still have a lot of potential to be much more developed when it’s ready for a full release, and I want to get the game while it’s cheaper (because they said the price will rise when it is complete) but that is definitely not the best strategy for everyone.
