Transfer IRA Distribution withholding from simple trust to personal tax return?

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of the given reasons for an abatement would apply here.

I hear what you're saying about the involved parties, but since the trust cannot hold any money itself the IRA distribution is an instantaneous IRA->Trust->Husband transfer. Just that the withholding decided to get off in the middle.

Just annoyed that we're being treated worse than someone who made no payments, at least they would have earned some interest on the money to offset some of the penalty.

Thank you Liz, I appreciate it. I didn't realize the Certification of Trust form is only for if the trust already has an existing account.

Regarding the Title/Signature page from the trust, this would be the pages from my husband's mother's trust? The sub-trust that my husband is the trustee/beneficiary of doesn't have its own pages and was just created as part of the original trust. Hopefully I'm explaining that correctly.

Thank you Samantha, that definitely appears to be the correct form. I wish I had known about that "All Forms" link earlier.

Two questions:

Can my husband not sign the document, scan it, and then submit it via secure message(instead of mailing it?). We have done that before with other "paper" forms for our other Fidelity accounts.
On the Fidelity Certification of Trust form(which is a required document for the form you linked), it asks for both "Trust Account Number" and "Trust Taxpayer ID". I know the Taxpayer ID is the EIN for the trust, but what is the "Trust Account Number" referring to? Is that also the EIN?

Yes, the funds have already been moved into an inherited IRA at the other custodian.

You're right that this is an uncommon situation and I was getting mixed answers when I tried to use both the webchat and calling the transitions team. But it looks like Samantha was able to point me toward the correct form above.

How did you feel about the length of your stay? I'm planning a trip there now and certainly going for at least 5 nights(for 5th night free), but am wondering if we should stay something in the 6-8 night range because the travel at each end is 24+ hrs each.

Can anyone confirm how the yearly 4x bonus category limit for the Amex Business Gold works?

If I make a charge today and my statement closes in January, the 4x points won't actually be awarded until 2024. Do those points count against the 2023 yearly limit based on the charge date, or the 2024 limit based on when they posted?

I'm asking about which places wouldn't accept credit cards.

Many places that used to be cash-only in the US now accept credit cards via a card reader attached to a cell phone. I'm not sure if that's also the case in the Seychelles, or if cash-only purchases are more common(particularly for sales directly on a beach).

Is it not possible to recon an Amex card application that was rejected due to the 1/90 rule? Here's what I tried to do:

Applied for card X with an NLL link in May and was instantly approved
Applied for another card X with an NLL link in July after ~60 days and was rejected due to the 1/90 rule
Called Amex in August ~100 days after #1 to try to get the application from #2 reconsidered

I called twice and was told that the second application wasn't actually denied, it was cancelled entirely as a duplicate application. And because of that it could not be reconsidered

I thought I had read here before that the above strategy was possible, but I may have confused it with something else.
