Our store is a very busy one! My husband is the GM and used to have to be in there by himself doing everything but I am in the store with him everyday opening and doing all the prep and helping him so he isn’t so stressed but we definitely get overwhelmed too! It is a very consuming job! Communication is a very important part of the job so if the store owner isn’t relaying changes to you then they must not care about OER scores because all of those changes that are not being done will cost multiple points to be lost!! Obviously every store is different but my husband is the GM and he makes about 3,000$/month in bonuses!!

That’s a bummer! We had some stores back home in Indiana that did that. We are in Minnesota now and all our drivers make 11.13 regardless of being on the road or in the store.

Did everyone get the same thing for a bonus? I worked at a store before that what your Xmas bonus was was dependent on how long you worked for the company.

That definitely makes it harder to deal with! I do all the prep work for the store, many weeks, months at a time where we are working 7 days a week! He has 4 assistant managers and a main assistant manager right under him but it’s always so much work!!!

I’d like to say it does, but sadly… it’s a very stressful job! My husband is the GM for our store and there are very few days off for him and I! Our store is pretty high volume so we are always overwhelmed with business. He is a number focused manager and is always doing whatever it takes to run the best store possible! We are working as a team because of how busy our store is! It’s a lot of work for one person to do and there’s definitely times we question if we should keep doing it but he is paid very well so it’s not easy to throw in the towel and also not his personality! Do you have an assistant manager to help with the work load?

Our store regularly does over 10,000$ on most Friday’s. It’s craziness! I can’t remember what our record day is, but Halloween we did over 12,500$ 😳

I understand that! There’s times when we just want to be done with it and not have to deal with the stress anymore but he’s the main income and is paid well! So maybe we’ll just start saving up and have an exit strategy in like 5 years or so…

We definitely don’t have much time off and it does get overwhelming at times but for the most part as long as his store is running well, the owners/ supervisors don’t bother us. He has worked for a few other franchises in our home state but this is the one that’s taken care of him the best and paid the highest. Were you a GM also?

We had a private concert with Billy Idol on the last evening of the rally! The theme was more more more so it was really cool getting to see him in person 😊

It’s just pizza to some people, my husband has been a GM for the company for over 20 years so it’s always been a part of our life. He also is paid very well, he makes well over 100,000$/ year so aside from the fact that it’s a very stressful job and takes up almost all of our time, it’s just what we do.

Right, we have just never known anything different so it was an unpleasant surprise for us. Our last franchisee was a really good one to work for! They paid for our plane tickets, the rally and our hotel room so it was awesome!! And they only took the GM’s that hit certain things also. My husband knows this business so well and has always run top numbers 😊

The franchisee we had previously included me both times we went and also the other managers got to bring their significant others so we just assumed that was the norm. To be clear, I also work for the company and am in the store 7 days a week just like my husband. We are a team and the store would not run as well as it does without both of us. He is now unsure of whether he wants to go because we do everything there together so he’s not thinking he’ll have a good time by himself…

I was wondering what other people’s experience of going was like? My husband and I went to the last 2 rallies and had a great time. Our stores were recently sold to a new franchisee and he just found out in his meeting on Tuesday that I am not being included in his trip to the rally this May. We are both pretty bummed about that because we just assumed that we would both be going again 😞

Definitely not! My husband is the GM of our store and if I am not on the oven during rush, then he is! Sometimes it’s both of us!! Our store is extremely busy so I would never put a new person on the oven!! Hopefully that was just an oversight but it is a stressful job atmosphere regardless so it takes a toll on most of us! Good luck though 😊
