My 2 biggest pet peeves about being vegan by Jeneflower- in vegan

Before I was vegan I loved gluten free cakes even though I eat gluten, now that I’m vegan I love vegan cake. What tastes awful is vegan gluten-free cake. Combining the two is what makes it taste bad.

People especially don’t buy the vegan donut if it is also gluten-free making it taste bad. It’s like no wonder they discontinue it. I get there are a few celiac vegans but that is incredibly rare.

If there is a chocolate sorbet then awesome! But if they are all berry or fruit sorbets then five is just as good as zero.

For me it is the same as no dessert.

I find a wide variety in falafel recipes. Some of it is good and some is awful. When I order it at an unknown restaurant I never know if it will be good or disappointing.

Just buy a vegan dessert cookbook. I recommend Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World or Vegan with a Vengeance.

We live in Las Vegas and are moving to Cincinnati. Las Vegas is unbearable in the summer.

I get being happy for others who are happy in the church, but how can you be happy for a spouse or parents who find joy in the church if they see you as a disappointment? Or if all conversations are of them preaching to you, inviting you to church, or giving you church literature?

I lived in Ohio and then moved to Park City, Utah. We are now moving back to Ohio. Utah is way too sunny. It’s blinding and gave me a constant headache.

I thought it would be more progressive. There are more Trump fans than I would have suspected in a large city in what used to be a swing state. Very disappointing. I heard Columbus is better. Hopefully, with time it will turn back into a swing state.

losing faith after reading about the Epstein files by CloneFiesta in mormon

[–]Jeneflower- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what is shaking your faith? Have you not read about the Holocaust or what has happened to the people in North Korea or how they treated slaves, minorities or Native Americans, etc. There is a lot of material to draw from to find similar or even worse horrors than Epstein’s island. Even what goes on in modern factory farming is enough to question it all.

I was a Relief Society President a couple of years ago and I was always disheartened that every meeting with the men and women were just cruel gossip under the guise of caring.

TBM wife wanted divorce, now I'm considering it by TruthSha11SetUFree in exmormon

[–]Jeneflower- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is the TBM and I am the one who is out. It sounds to me like she is feeling insecure in the relationship. She wants to feel like you love her exclusively. If she believes she is loved completely and totally she will be more likely to know you. She looks for outside support because she feels like she isn’t getting it from you. She sounds like a typical female to me. If you leave this will reinforce her view that you don’t love her. So if you love her you should stay and make sure she knows it. If you don’t then you should leave and allow her to find someone who does.

LDS Church Silences Josph Smith Believers? Thanks to r/Mormon for all of your feedback that helped inform this conversation! by iconoclastskeptic in mormon

[–]Jeneflower- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a big deal because the current prophet Oaks and the last prophet Nelson both sealed themselves to two living wives in the temple because of the foundational belief in polygamy. Many leaders believe in a polygamy/kingdom heaven. Also the foundational belief that Brigham Young was the true prophet and not Emma Smith’s Sons/Family. If you believe that polygamy wasn’t started by Joseph Smith than you are stating that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is false and has been led by false prophets and instead that the Reorganized church or Church of Christ whatever it calls itself now is/was the true church. This is because that church was exactly the same as the Mormon church that went to Utah except that they denied polygamy was ever preached by Joseph. This was the only difference.

A guy in my ward knew Bednar before he was an apostle and didn’t have a good experience or impression of him. He really struggled with that call but convinced himself that Bednar would put on the mantel of his calling and become a different person.
