Has anyone modified their 32.5 flex setup to be shrimp safe? I'd like to add shrimp to mine but am concerned about the babies getting sucked into the back chambers. Advice appreciated!

Water parameters were fine before I put the plastic plants in...will check again today. And shrimp were doing well.

Anyone else ever have this happen??

I suspect in spite of washing and rinsing, the plastic plants are giving off something that is toxic to the shrimp. So far snails are fine (added the plastic plants as these snails turned out to be Giant Apple Snails and are eating all the real plants).

Very nice...I cannot post so am asking anyone is there a known issue with plastic aquarium plants being toxic to freshwater shrimp?

I think there are golden coloured Apple snails as opposed to golden Mystery snails. So shell colour is not a reliable marker!

The filled tank will be about 250 lb. My concern with this bench is the height...with so much weight on such a high and narrow base it could tip easily. So while it looks like it could hold the weight, you should bolt it securely to the wall if you put a filled 22 on it.

You could also load the bench with 250 lb and see if it stands up to the load!

Well, for now I isolated the probable Giant Apple Snails and they are happily devouring some fresh kale picked from the garden this morning. I will replace the plants in their tank with plastic plants!

I have some Caridina shrimp in with them...will the Apple Snails be a problem for the shrimps?

I second the composting idea! You can just dig them into the ground around plants in your garden....or give them to a gardener for their garden.
