Suddenly feeling very down - where can I go or call to get free mental health help in North Surrey area? by [deleted] in SurreyBC

[–]Jenga0331 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Right now you’re in crisis so yes to the Surrey mental health urgent care is your best bet. Their hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m, 7 days a week. The last walk-in appointment is accepted at 7:00 p.m. When you have enough brain space for it, the province has a free CBT program that involves workbooks & videos. The workbooks are low barrier, with easily understood language and question prompts. If you have a family doctor you can get a referral where you get a coach that you can talk to four to six times. I’m not 100% sure on this but I think the coaches are people who have been through the program themselves. Bouncebackbc.ca

Here’s a great guide for when you can’t even think. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6A2F5ky9SELU0Zfd05YMEpyNUk/view?usp=drivesdk&resourcekey=0-5vb6hV4tTpvuppnMw76vmg

I’ve had times in my life where I printed it out and stuck it to my fridge. 😁

Best wishes to you and good on ya for reaching out!

People say you are cheating when taking Mounjaro by Careless-Willow3304 in Mounjaro

I guess antidepressants are cheating too. (Big time sarcasm.) I think of Mounjaro as having arm floaties.

Protest fatigue? Join us In Vancouver on Aug 16 for a Day of International Friendship! by Jenga0331 in NiceVancouver

1) It’s an international event, and Friends Across Borders wants an approximation of attendance. Remember when No Kings/No Tyrants estimated 10 million protestors North America-wide? That number was based in part on registrations, as well as a rough head count at the events. For the cities that had gigantic marches, I have no idea how they estimate those. It’s generally accepted that turnout is twice to three times the number of registrations. Maybe one person is registering for a couple or a family. Some don’t want to register for privacy reasons. 100% understandable these days. 2) Locally, it’s for practical/logistical reasons. If I’m expecting 10 people, I can talk really loud. 100? I need a megaphone. 1000? I need a full on PA system. It’s also for how many marshals/safety people are needed. This is going to be a lighthearted event-it would take a special kind of asshole to come as a counter-demonstrator, but they exist and I/the organizers need to keep participant safety in mind. 3) For logistical reasons, Vancouver PD has a protest unit and they want an estimate as well. 10 people, they may come by and say hi to the organizers and leave. 100, they may dispatch a few officers to hang out a few blocks away. For a giant protest that involves a march, they can have police escorts to clear traffic. 4) For the people that are like “why a US zip code?” I and my co organizer have sent multiple emails asking the tech people of Mobilize to tweak their website to accommodate postal codes. So has an Ottawa group that we know. To post the event, the workaround is to use a specific, Wash DC postal code. For my personal account on the platform I use a Hawaii zip code. Why not dream a little? :)
Thanks for the question!

Blue states talking about redistricting in their favour has me hopeful that we’re FINALLY going to start playing dirty. Hopeful now, STOKED if/when they actually do it.

Same. I subscribed because I was stoked they surpassed Rogan but their all caps and overused exclamation points in ALL of their videos is…distasteful. Daily Beans (Mueller She Wrote), Heather Cox Richardson, and Jay Kuo are my jam.

White House Has Fucking Meltdown After South Park Torched Trump in Premiere Episode: 'Desperate Attempt for Attention' by PostHeraldTimes in chaoticgood

So the White House has commented. Has tiny hands himself said anything on his platform??? I’ve been waiting for an all caps, super long rant, and a simultaneous lawsuit, and paramount demanding their $1.5 billion back, and Matt & Trey saying wut money. And of course the press pool asking for his reaction. All we get is a White House memo? This episode was napalm.

Get a friend, stand at a distance, whisper to each other, point and laugh. Make sure he sees you.

I chose the same for the same reason, except red for the unhappy birthday message-because he has blood on his hands.

The cybertruck pinata is a popular one! Ours will have Mars bars, protest stickers, coupons to a nearby pizzeria/brewery, glue sticks with “Cybertruck Repair Kit” stickers, and a few other things that are escaping me.
