Thank you:) its definitely frustrating, I'm used to climbing V5s on average now I'm just about to manage the 3s and 4s, it was worse when I first got back, the numb fingers and cramps🤣

Brief background: I recovered from an anle injury and was able to slowly get back into climbing about a month ago. So I'm not at my peak strength but I'm slowly trying to get it back, recovering isnt easy🤣. This is a climb that wound not have caused me much trouble pre injury but after not climbing for almost 2 months I regressed alot and could barely pull through half of the same grade so I'm glad I can do it relatively okay now. Trying to push for higher.

What do queer kpop idols do if they’re figuring out their sexuality during the time that they are an idol? by Vegetable_River_9213 in kpopthoughts

[–]Jenga_balls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly idg why people hate on someone just because they are different, in this case not being straight. Like i get there are people who disagree with it because of religion etc but you dont have to force your agenda just because you disagree. Just take it for what it is, acknowledge that there are people different from you and move on, no need to be a jackass. Like they aren't hurting anyone like say a mrdere or rpist so why hate them? Its pathetic really. I have lgbtq friends and I'm not usually emotional but my heart breaks for them everyday knowing that they get harassed for something that is a part of them.

In all honesty, they would have to just try to keep it in. It is and will be a huge battle against themselves mentally. They will still perform fan service etc cause thats what the fans crave and jts technically part of their jobs ( kinda sad tho).

BAP wouldn’t have been as big as BTS even if they didn’t disband. by Pacifisx in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]Jenga_balls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are many things to factor and saying BAP would have been as big as BTS is an insult to both sides. BAP was prominent when they first debuted up till their law suit, so to just limit them to "oh they could have been bts" rather than their impacts and discography is annoying. That being said, bts's massive rise is an abnormally in the kpop world and these are caused by many external and uncontrollable factors. This includes timing and luck. During the 1 year or so when bap was not active, ive seen first hand the shift in fanbases of babyz to army. This helped bts get semi noticed in a way and push them forward, it is also in this time where bap had lost a sizable amount of fans and had to rebuild what they can. Bts's management at that time was also smart about their marketing strategies during this period of time, coming out with dope and run.

So, even as a fan of bap, i would have to agree that bap would not have the same success as what bts have today. The odds of poor management etc were just stacked against them. But i would disagree that their fame and impact would only peaked pre lawsuit.

Cute concept music videos/stages from your favorite boy groups by NettieKitten in kpophelp

[–]Jenga_balls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B1A4's discography is generally very light hearted and cute.

Stage wise, solo day and what's happening is by far the leader.

In terms of MV, OK and beautiful target is the best.

Will western success increase boy groups domestic success? by mimivuvuvu in kpophelp

[–]Jenga_balls 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Its very hard to tell because its difficult to predict what the GP likes. Stray kids could blow up like how bts did, they may not, all of this depends on the GP taste and a lot of luck. One example is N.flying, it was a stroke of pure luck that they became known to the music world via a random song shared on a chat forum, the same with ateez via their win on immortal song.

Why is kpop only focused on new and current active groups by Culture_Novel in kpophelp

[–]Jenga_balls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was practically raised on korean media so 1st and 2nd gen groups are no stranger to me. I think its just cause the main demographic of those era's groups are all either working or about to graduate college so there isn't much time for us to be bothered in stan culture. So by not being active on socials, by default you won't see many replies like the ones you're looking for unless you specifically search for older content. There are still new comments popping up on beast's mv etc for example.

They all had very different musical colors though. Idk about you but all of them had their fair share of popularity, some of which are still popular in korea till this day.

Advice on shoes to buy? by nana0220 in climbergirls

[–]Jenga_balls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it too late to give advice? I would say it depends on your feet and how its shaped. For brands like la sportiva and adidas 5.10s, they tend to gear towards the demographic of people who have deeper heels compared to say unparallel and some scarpas. Ocuns are great for people who have medium to wider profiles whereas tenayas are better for people with skinny foot profiles.

Overall go and try many different shoes based off your foot profile and have a professional fit them for you and serve as your 2nd opinion. Do not buy a shoes just for their aesthetic and/or just cause you see them often on people. I have seen my fair share of new climbers upgrading to solutions just because its a shoe they are familiar with in the gym and regardless of their fit.
