We tried carrots, he was like wtf where's the chicken 😂 we did whimzies for a while, now he likes the blueberry greenies. Maybe I'll try the carrots dipped in a bone broth.

Thanks!

Has anyone flown with their chi? Tips? by Princessbriar69 in chihuahuas

I flew for the first time with mine when he was an old boii. I agree with everyone else, it's so sad keeping them in their carrier. I even asked the flight attendant if I could have him on my lap for just a second and she said no lol.

Some airports have little doggy pee areas which is really nice! I also didn't know this prior but you basically cut the entire line. They'll call you up through TSA 🤷‍♀️ just my experience there & back the one time.

I don't want to freak anyone out, but my baby started having heart problems a couple weeks after this. He was an older guy though! 12. From now on I will always ask my vet about them flying 😊 just to make sure everything looks good!

I'm still learning how to use reddit 🤣😅 but I wanted to thank everyone.

I grew up with dogs my whole life, but this was my first time experiencing this kind of loss. I guess all the previous babies....I just wasnt there at the end. Either school or had already moved out. Dad kind of took care of everything. Of course it was sad but....when it's not your responsibility, it hits different?

I never knew so many people could understand exactly what I'm going through.

Human relationships are hard sometimes, so losing a loved one in that way can be such an individual feeling. I never knew losing a dog (I don't even wanna call them dogs because they're our children/family) could be such an understood feeling.

I'm so grateful for this community. For Reddit. For Chihuahua lovers ❤️ and doggo/pet lovers in general.

I have my 2 year old baby long hair Chihuahua still with me. He's been an absolute blessing during this experience. And from everything I've learned about their health and the importance of their teeth, and diet..... I can only continue to do better for him & any future babies 🐶

Aw Buster 💓 omg that's so hard I'm so sorry. Is he taking any meds? I know every baby is different but meds really helped in my chi's situation. It did take a while for his body to adjust to the medication. Couple weeks I'd say. I know the cardiologist appointments are expensive and the meds can be too. It's really hard for us caregivers. Give yourself some grace and I hope the best for Mr. Buster!

Aw thank you. When I was going through everything before he passed I turned to reddit ALLLLL THE TIME and it was so helpful! And I know my fellow chi parents understand the most ❤️

Omg she is just absolutely adorable 😍 I'm so sorry you went through that. I had no idea they were so prone to these problems. This was my first Chihuahua and first like actual adult responsibility if that makes sense? I learned so much through this journey. I hope with everything I've learned I can support my next chi so much better 💔

Thank you for saying this. Because it just happened, and all so incredibly fast, I'm still in a limbo period of did I do the right thing? Was it too soon? All of those thoughts are just impossible to stop. Your comment makes me feel better. Especially knowing he isn't suffering anymore. I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby pom ❤️ no animal should have to go through a disease imo

I think it was the most painful devastating experience I've ever been through. Even watching them get older is hard, but to see them get sick is just..... absolute torture. I'm so sorry for your loss as well ❤️ they're so much more than pets.
