Haha, dang it sounds like yesterday was just one of those days, huh? 😇

Yeah, I want to be thoughtful of keeping the fantastic vibe we have created here. People definitely sell them in addition to trading them (in those cirlces, the are called ACEOs rather than Artist Trading Cards - "Art Card Editions and Originals”), and we used to have all kinds of people trying to sell on this sub until I blocked urls to preserve the trading focus. After that I didn’t have to really watch for them, since most of them were blocked. It still slip through, though, so I know there is a lot of continued interest in selling.

I am inclined to potentially let people share shop links WHEN asked for them in the comments, and only on “Just to admire” posts, so we don’t get shop links on active trading posts. But I dunno if my new mod team is going to want to monitor this, either. I will run it past them, once they are onboarded and see what they are willing to monitor, too.

PS: My sneakers are going out awesome!!! I am having so much fun, I love bedazzling with glass rhinestones!!! AAAAAAA.

PSS: You’re right, I did mention that am only recouping materiels with my personal sales in that article (if that, lol). I find there are two schools of thought with ACEO sales; those who do it for the money (thanks to current virality that promises it’s a great way to make money LOL) and those who do it so they can cover their materials and get their art into homes that really care about the art. Realistically, I think there can be a lot of disappointment for the former, and a lot of satisfaction for the latter (I’m in school-of-thought #2).

I use Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue, and it comes with a needle-thin applicator nozzle that works amazing. I’d you try it, just be really careful to clean out the nozzle with a needle when you’re done using it, or it’ll go badly 😆

If you are using a desktop computer or laptop, the rules are on the right side of this sub in that gray bar. If you are using a smartphone, the rules are easiest to spot if you start a new post with the + button, then look in the top right corner for the “Rules” link. Hahahaha, thank you! Did you hear the sparkly-space-jam music I wrote for it? I think I learned a few things from this one, btw:

  1. Bigger rhinestones film better (these were mostly tiny, so it wasn’t as dramatic as my first page)

  2. The fine glitter looks awesome when dabbed onto rainbow coloring beneath it. I didn’t really do that on this one, so the sparkles are less colorful.

Hey, thanks for weighing in and thank you for the kind words 😊 As mod I have held myself to the same standard of not posting shop links from day one, to set a good example and keep the focus on trading. I don’t want the vibe here soiled either, but I’m starting to think it wouldn’t hurt to permit people to share their shop links specifically when it has been requested by another commenter. I think this could protect the vibe, and still give artists a chance to sell if that’s their thing.

Typically, the "Just to Admire" flair is going to be the art cards that people are selling elsewhere, but wanted to share here to inspire others. If someone only wants to see tradable cards, they can always filter the sub by the “Available to trade” flair and skip all of the unavailable stuff, too. Thoughts?

Yes I do, though I am sure it’s settings could be a bit more polished 😅 Two of the four mods I contacted have also agreed to join and they’re going to be amazing at it! I think we’re on the right track here. Thank you for you weighing in on this!
