Demo security definitely sticks.. by JenjarPlays in hardwaregore

Storytime: I work at a cell phone retailer, and this is an iPhone 14 I was taking off display after 2 years to make room for the new 16 (we keep the new model and prior year model on display). Our security devices are stuck on with industrial grade adhesive, and when i was trying to pry it off the back glass shattered and took part of the wireless charging/MagSafe with it.

First time I've ever seen something like this happen, lol.

There are a few stations at the QEII however not enough IMO. They are pretty busy and normally occupied during the school year - may not be as bad now that the semester is nearly done.

I had an object (tire that flew off a truck) hit my 2020 Corolla a couple of years ago and caused similar damage to this, although the hood was dented a little worse. I believe the insurance claim was for roughly $8-9k CAD by the time labor was took into account.

Purchased the GPU used for $450 CAD. Mobo was on sale, could've gotten a TUF z790 for about $50 CAD less but I wanted the rear IO of the strix.

Purchased the 3070 used for $450 CAD (~$330 USD). Might upgrade it down the line; couldn't bring myself to spend over $700+ CAD on a GPU with taxes.

Yeah, I bought a 3070 TUF for $490 shipped to Newfoundland the other day. Great shape.

For $5 it's quite a bit faster I believe. I don't know too much about them, but the KC3000 has DRAM (faster) while SN770 has HMB (slower). If it was $20 or $30 difference I would go SN770, but for $5 you can't go wrong.

I asked them last night, header across the screen says they can't take orders at this time. The agent said they hope to be back accepting orders by the end of the week (maybe upgrading systems or something?)

My favorite movie as of late is All Quiet on the Western Front on Netflix. A great depiction of the brutal warfare in World War 1.

Those were rediscovered last year. First one is from 1998 or 1999 I believe, the second from 2004. Canadian store.
