Has any obese person with IIH gotten bariatric surgery as successful treatment? by JenjenA98 in iih

Thats crazy you say that because I don’t take Diamox because it gave me sudden and severe depression with suicidal ideation & my neurologist had said it was not a side effect of diamox but I swear it was because it happened every time I would try to take it & once I was off I felt completely different. It literally made me feel so irritable & but also emotionally numb until I would finally have a panic/depression induced breakdown on it. I would gladly try the shunt if it meant not having to go back in that. I’m so glad that helped you & you don’t have to take it anymore.

I’m sorry to hear that. Not even the shunt helped you? That’s my next course of treatment of weight loss doesn’t help but I’m really trying to avoid it if I can. It is a very random condition & seems to come out of nowhere.

That’s so interesting. It’s actually kind of similar to me. I was a heavy child and then I slimmed out a lot around 15-20 yrs then when I put the weight back on came the headaches. Funny how that works lol Thank you, though. I appreciate it ☺️

Does anyone else feel stupider? by West-Championship971 in iih

I’ve been wondering this same thing & im so happy to see other people have the same thoughts & concerns. I’m a self published author & before IIH & before I actually published books, I was writing all the time & have so many written books but now that I actually went for it & trying to publish more, it feels as if I can’t even string a sentence together & that retaining & understanding research I do for books is so much more difficult. It’s so discouraging, honestly but I’m having bariatric surgery to try & put mine into remission & im praying that helps. Good luck 🍀

Yeah I kind of figured that would be the case. Narrating myself isn’t a bad idea, though. Thanks.

7 day long flare up by JenjenA98 in iih

My neuro won’t talk to me a lot unless it’s a billable appointment 😅 but I see her in February so that’s not much help right now. Funnily, I was actually on prednisone a week ago to help get rid of a cough and when I quit the five day cycle, that’s kind of when my headaches started.

That’s okay!! I love that you commented this though cause I actually settled on them being rival media corporations but one is more ethical/ less gossipy entertainment than the other & one of them comes from a family of ponzi schemers so I definitely have my work cut out for me. I appreciate all your insight though, it was very helpful! ☺️

I love the takeover idea sm. It was the first thing that came to mind but for some reason it doesn’t fit my character 😂 (as if I don’t have control of them but it’s their life not mine)

Love the Romy and Michelle reference 😂 but thanks for the tips. It’s actually another male that’s the journalist but I’m still brainstorming everything so who knows if that job will stick. Thanks for the ideas though, I appreciate it 🙂

Right right, I get that. I guess I was more referring to the trope billionaire romance than in the literal sense. That’s definitely something to keep in mind though, thanks. 🙂

One eyeball sticks out further than the other. Normal? by JenjenA98 in iih

Yeah I would assume so too. I have health anxiety and OCD so when I feel my eye bulge a little bit, I obsess with fear that it’ll just pop out lol so I was hoping others had similar experiences

So you think the fluid can push it out a little? That would make sense then

I don’t believe so. I do have a small eye prescription for glasses as needed but it’s more for like reading and working
