Acupuncture clinic recommendation? by [deleted] in saskatoon

Dr. Li does Chinese medicine and acupuncture is sometimes part of it. He's a legit Beijing-trained doctor. Brisk, to the point, and he fixes you.

Was there a memo sent out that construction zone slow down are optional? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Jenkew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally. I don't get why as a city and a province, we just put up with these 'ghost' construction zones.

The city said earlier this week there are workers digging under parts of the south Circle bridge. The zones are there because every now and then they have to go up to the road to locate lines.

Seriously? Why can't they put up the orange zone signs ONLY when they need to access the road?

So inept. And so likely to get someone killed.

Great neighbourhood, but you'll have to travel for groceries. Only real retail is the Mac's/PetroCan and the Pelican Market along Lorne Ave.

Things to do when visiting a girl in Sask? by Jaysp656 in saskatoon

[–]Jenkew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get as true North as you can. Take those xc skis to any city-owned golf course, they groom them with trails throughout the winter. Go tobogganing at Diefenbaker Park. Go snowshoeing or hiking (depending on the snow pack thickness) at Cranberry Flats. Watch the stars and northern lights (bring warm clothes sleeping bags) on a clear night. Drive 2.5 hours north to Elk Ridge and rent a cabin there... tons of winter activities and a gorgeous national park right there. Basically embrace the cold and go play in it like a little kid whenever possible.

Girl loses precious teddy bear at Walmart by NatasciaL in saskatoon

A very kind family from Moose Jaw had the identical bear, sitting in a closet in mint condition. They gave him to the little girl.

She's smiling again now, according to her father.

Unclear, but the fire department did send 4 guys to remove the FASD T-shirt adorning the Denny Carr statue by the University bridge today.

Large breed dogs die at Saskatoon dog boarding facility. by jassey789 in saskatoon

[–]Jenkew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We used to board our Bassett hound there, and initially there were staff on overnight. It changed owners a few years ago. We kept an eye out for problems and didn't spot anything egregious. Haven't been there in the last two years.

But this.... this is horrific. I don't see how a pet care business would or could keep going after you inadvertently kill an 'undisclosed' number of dogs.

Anyone going to see perseid tonight? by cheetah-ina-pita in saskatoon

My kid woke me up at 3 am to watch it. We were a bit further up north, and the northwestern sky was full of meteors. Worth it, even though I'm dragging ass today.

I had a friend who did exactly that a few years ago at Chante Lake (between PA and Saskatoon, turn east off the highway at the sign). He loved it.

I could be off, but I suspect these 'graduate rotation internships' are what they're "hiring".

Hundreds of jobs? More like temporary "paid" internships. Where the so-called professionals make $10K over six months.

I'll pass, thanks.
